not a luxury hotel, not as advertised
We stayed at the cove expecting some level of luxury. The rooms were dated and disgusting. We paid for an indigo suite hoping for wrap around ocean views as advertised and a higher level room, but we were gifted a view of a construction site and offered zero compensation or room change. We even offered to downgrade to a deluxe ocean suite and were denied by the front desk staff and so-called manager who could not understand the concept of keeping the customer happy. The service was a joke - 2 hours to get breakfast room service in the morning, missing half the day, the line at the restaurant was even worse. Every step of the trip was difficult - nobody is there to help you - everywhere we went we waited in line, the pool and beach service were nonexistent, there were virtually no chairs at any time during the day, meaning 9 of us had to share a single chair. Good luck getting water - after a long day in the sun we returned to our suite to find two cans of water for the 4 of us to share, and when we asked for a few more waters for our thirsty children, we were told we would have to pay for room service water, as there is a strict 2 can policy for every room, regardless of how many people are staying in the room. The window shade in our bathroom completely fell down and could have harmed one of my kids, the outlet box fell out of the wall, for these, we were given a small amount of cash back, but there was no compensation for the room being not as advertised or for how terribly we were treated. I've stayed at rosewood baha mar several times, lovely place, but made the mistake of venturing to this new place, wasting my PTO on a hellish experience. Unless this place seriously changes, its only back to baha mar for us.

Fun in the sun
The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. The toilet flusher malfunctioned during our stay and it leaked on the floor. Not a big deal, just annoying. This is an extremely family friendly resort, my grandkids were enthralled by the aquariums and the architecture. The food is expensive and just average quality but there are many choices. The bar at shake shack has faster service for adults. The beach is beautiful and the pools, although a little chilly, are very clean. I was glad to see security keeping things in line and felt very safe while staying there.

Needs updating
Rooms need updating as well as beds. Been going here since it's inception and the COVE rooms need updating. I will now try the Baha Mar as we like modern places. Please update asap as this once was the most gorgeous places ever and we loved coming here but the Cove hasn't been updated since we got married there - 23 years ago. Been here at least 20 times.

The cove Atlantis
The cove is amazing! Very modern hotel, great big room with amazing views. Adult pool was very luxurious including high end alcohol and friendly staff. The family pool was close to the adult pool so I was able to go back and forth. The food at both pools was great.

Mostly a good experience
The grounds and beach setting are beautiful. It was a very unique experience that the entire family was able to enjoy. Our overall experience was influenced by the fact that roughly ninety percent of the staff is beyond excellent. However, roughly ten percent seem very unhappy to be there, which can lead to some negative experiences. Many of the slides were closed on and off and some never opened during our stay. Having said that, we will likely be back, as it was mostly a very good experience.
