The best holiday
We have just returned from royalton we stayed 10 days I wanted to leave our honest review! 5 🌟 for us! First of all the HOTEL beautiful and clean check in was easy no queuing and we were greeted with a nice refreshing drink bags were taken up to our rooms we stayed in building 1, we were not DC either and tbh we wouldn’t of needed it. The FOOD, 7 of us ate every night all different foods none of us got sick we found there was something for everyone we tried everything we also got into 3 different restaurants by booking on the app we just turned up with our pending reservation and it seemed to work we got in! The food is amazing 🤩. The STAFF work tirelessly all day long fetching you drinks round the pool tidying up I will say a small tip here and there will keep them looking after you, big shout out to Bernard think that was his name from the vibe team he had us laughing so much all holiday. There is so much to do for the kids the foam party the white party the circus they had inflatables bouncy castles and so much more going on in the day time that’s with out all the pool games and club games too! We are British!! Bring your own tea bags if you love a brew they didn’t have any for a couple of days they were like gold dust! We spoke to reception and they got loads in for the restaurants and cafe I would bring my own next time no problem, the beach is absolutely beautiful the waves were big and the kids loved jumping in them. The staff are lovely and really cannot do enough for you. The buffet restaurant can get a little busy at times and sometimes we found we had to ask for water after waiting again no a problem at all for us, we appreciated how busy the staff are there are 2 exceptional lovely ladies in there and I’m gutted I didn’t take there names but you will know who they are they are always very happy and upbeat food was 10/10 everyday! Overall we had the best time it was our first time here! And we are 💯 booking to go back. If anyone has any question I’ll be happy to answer best I can.

Diamond Club Disaster
Wow! How do I even begin? My trip started off without towels. I was able to get them close to 10pm. Of course I wasn’t able to get wash cloths or a hand towel. I had to request that multiple times. The housekeepers kept sending me to someone else. After 3 trips to the Diamond Club Lounge I received wash cloths at 12am two days after I arrived. The food was at best a 5/10. I wasn’t that impressed. The only choice for breakfast was the buffet and it was just ok. Not much of a variety. The Mexican restaurant was horrible. The steakhouse was good. My favorite spot was Zen. I never got to really enjoy any good Dominican food. I expected more. Entertainment wasn’t a big thing. We saw a mediocre Michael Jackson performance. That was all we really went to. It was limited options and nothing was quite appealing. Let’s get to what really made my trip miserable. The one day that housekeeping actually came to clean the room we ended up having $340 stolen. Of course we didn’t put our money in the safe.🤬 I never thought at a Luxury hotel in Diamond Club status that it would be a problem. It’s a mistake that won’t be made in the future. I reported it and was told an investigation would occur. I’m not expecting much will come of it. My advice to you is that if you do decide to stay here make sure you lock up your valuables. My butler Kelvin was awesome. He made our dinner reservations and was on top of getting things resolved. If it wasn’t for him I think I would have snapped. He even had a birthday cake and banner delivered to the room to celebrate. The beach and pool were nice and clean. There was seaweed but a truck would come early in the morning and clean it up. There was plenty of beach chairs . I won’t be returning to this resort. Way too many other options and I don’t appreciate being robbed.🤬

Ok
We've stayed at a few Royaltons in the Caribbean and this was my least favourite by far. We were in Diamond club with a swim out room. After travelling 12 hours in total with a 2 and 4 year old we got to the hotel and no welcome drinks were offered. We were left sat in the Diamond bar lounge area waiting to be checked in for ages. We were taken to our rooms and told that our luggage would take around 50minutes to be delivered from reception...if we had known, we would have just carried it ourselves. The buffet food was ok, the usual options but every night we had to wait over 15mins for fries (kids refused to eat anything else) as they only put them out in the 'kids corner' but there were adults piling up their own plates. It got very busy and there were definitely not enough staff. We ordered drinks one night and they were never delivered and another night we didn't even get asked, appalling service especially with children waiting after a day in the sun. On our third night we were stopped on our way to the main buffet by Victor who asked if we could give him a good review on the survey. We hadn't seen him before and didn't see him again. At the buffet there were triple the amount of staff and they were all overly helpful pulling out chairs etc and there were 3 guys walking round offering shots to everyone. We were then handed surveys to fill in on the hotel and service. Of course it then all made sense. The blatant attempt and buttering up guests to increase their reviews was actually embarrassing to watch as the service had not been anywhere near that standard previously and was not like it again for the rest of our stay. The grill by the beach get sooo busy. 1 person making the Burgers, fries and hot dogs. We waited nearly 40 minutes in the queue in the sun with for food with minimal shade. There is shade by the bar but when that's busy you are just in everyone's way. And if you're in the bar you can't enjoy a drink properly as there is just people waiting around for the grill. It was next to impossible to get sunbeds near the pool as people reserved them with towels. We were up early with the kids and even getting to the pool from breakfast at around 8.30am there was nothing available. It got so busy late morning there were people lying on towels on the floor. Don't bother relying on staff to ask you for drinks by the pool...it doesn't happen. They collect glasses but don't even make eye contact and you have to stop them if you want something and they take ages to come back! You can go to the bar by the pool for some watered down, heavily iced drinks but be prepared to wait forever to be served. 2 days they ran out of cups...but didn't say anything...just left everyone standing in the heat waiting for nearly 20minutes. We ended up going back to the room just for drinks in the mini fridge.. The room itself was clean and the maid changed the bed and towels daily with a lovely flower arrangement but the fridge was not filled up for 2 days. There were no robes in the room and only 6 hangers for 4 people. The sofa bed wasn't made up when we arrived so we had to wait for someone to come and fold this out and provide bedding so my 4 year old could go to sleep. The swim out was nice but 2 of the days we had to fish out lots of dead bugs and leaves before going in as it just looked disgusting. There was also only 2 chairs, no loungers in the swim out terrace so the 4 of us couldn't sit out together. We had a butler as part of the Diamond club, Stanley who showed us to our room but never surfaced again. We asked him for some chocolate milk in the fridge but 2 days later....we were still waiting only to be told by another butler it's only available on the first day. We knew this wasn't true as it had been previously stocked up and my sister in law had hers stocked all week. Needless to say Stanley showed up pretty quickly after complaining. Checking out we had to take all out own bags and a pushchair in the midday heat up to reception where we were asked to give a 9 or 10* review. I said no and listed all the reasons above.
