May 27, 2023Unforgettable Family Stay!
Our family of 6, (4 children), stayed 8 wonderful nights at The Riu Palace Pacifico! We researched extensively, and reached out to previous Riu guests via Trip Advisor to ensure it was a worthy stay for our large family for the value. It also was our first trip out of the US as a family. We can confidently share it was absolutely everything - and then some - that we could have wished for! We already knew from previous reviews that this location was somewhat “aged” and in the plans for renovation. The lobby is beautiful. Aside from that - it was incredibly clean and pleasant. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous! The food, especially the Buffet, was outstanding every single trip - with phenomenal variety! The absolute HIGHLIGHT, however were the people, with a couple of stand out performances. JOSE! No words to share our Praise and Gratitude. You made our “beach days” priceless with your energy, humor, and immediate drink service. We will miss you until our next trip. :) Sergio - your joyful attitude and desire to please keeping our two rooms in pristine shape made our accommodations so wonderful. You have a very bright future! David & Thomas - thank you for serving our family at La Peninsula, and always having our drinks ready - you served my husband and I Mimosa’s every morning, without asking - and we appreciate your great attention and attitude. We wish you all the best in the future!

Trusted Staff
Staff was great especially the bell boy Victor he always helped us with our luggage and always sets an expectation on how much we need to pay for our cabs when going into Puerto Vallarta. He also always gave very good recommendations on what we could do in town! great job Victor!

Riu Palace - Perfect choice for our group
From the moment we entered the beautifully decorated lobby, we were immersed in the gracious hospitality of the Riu Palace resort. The staff attended to every request with professionalism and a touch of humour. Our group loved the hotel decor, which “felt” like Mexico, and was meticulously cleaned. Beautiful pool with activities - our favourite was daily volleyball in the pool. The beach area was amazing, great waves for body surfing and boogie boarding. The food was delicious with so much variety within the restaurants and the buffets. Topped the week off with the White Party at neighbouring Jalisco - fun for all ages. Highly recommend the Riu Palace - we can’t wait to go back.

May 22, 2023Ruined our day.
Everyday I'd be up early down on the pool looking for a good spot to spend the day, for my fiends my wife and I to hang out. So, today was the same as the previous 8 days, I picked out a spot that was nicely set up for 6 people, and obviously staff had set up that area..... I didn't realize it was close to the smoking area, if fact o booked here because it was advertised as "non- smoking ". So, after spending almost 6 hours in that spot STAFF ordered us to move because the smokers were complaining were in their way?? We were forced to move to 3 seperperate locations around d the pool area. The staff had no iterest in trying to accommodate us and treated us like it was our fault. This left all six of us pissed off and ruined our last day. Last time I'm booking at a Riu resort.

Tried and True
I love going to this resort, I know some of the staff and it is like comming home. Blanca in the bar, Janet in the buffet, Thes are people that enjoy thier jobs and like people. There is consistant service and the place is just beautiful. When they renovate I hope they keep the old world luxury feel. The beds could use and upgrade and the tubs are a bit wonkey but still a great place to be.
