It really is a Palace
After missing last years holidays, we were so looking forward our Xmas and New Year break. The hotel lived up to what we were promised and we were not disappointed. The hotel is a beautiful palace. The hotel was kept spotless with staff hard, Food was plentyfull and tasty with lots of choice for everyone. Really like steak house. COVID tests were available on site which was helpful.
I have stayed at many RIU Hotels. They are all great. Even during Covid it was good to see all the extra work being done. Beautiful rooms. I would recommend to anyone. Getting expensive though! The view and the beach was spectacular. We were there for New Years Eve and the food and atmosphere was amazing.
Great time and Great Staff
My wife and I stayed at the Palace over New Year's. They did a nice job with the entertainment. We had a really good time and first real get away in 2 years. We stayed 4 nights in a full ocean view suite which was very nice. Pillows thin, sheets were clean so it was very nice. If thin pillows are an issue they will bring more. Waves were good for body surfing. Beach was clean. Pool was clean and the swim up bar was so very service oriented. Masks were enforced in common areas which provides a sense of awareness. No safety concerns. Wish it was a more smoker friendly resort. Some areas outdated, but this is a place we will return.
I have been to many all inclusive resorts. This one is lovely! New and well maintained hotel and grounds. Food is superb, New Years feast was better than my favourite hotel chain in other countries Fairmont- which are very high end. Beach was spectacular, I don’t swim in the ocean nearly as much elsewhere (if you want to surf the waves are too small due to the bay, but for wary adults and kids this is outstanding). Staff here unprecedented! Antonio at the main dinner area knew more about Canada than most in the USA! Very impressive. Shows were good. New Years show could have been better, but for Mexico pretty good. The Michael Jackson show was outstanding! Staff super friendly! We will return! I didn’t want to come here during Covid, but I came because my ICU MD husband was desperate for a holiday. We felt so safe here, and likely safer than in Edmonton, Canada at the moment! (The airport is pretty packed though)
Seamless Hotel Experience
Thanks to all the staff @ the Riu, we had a great stay with the kids, nice beach & pool. Food & Drinks were very good for an all inclusive, plenty to do in surrounding area (whale watching was immense). We had absolutely no complaints and would happily return to this resort in the future.
