Dirty, run down, loud - but lots of fun activities
Unclean, poorly maintained hotel rooms, where you can easily hear your neighbors talking. Floors were oily and dirty, you'd see your feet picking up dirt after your shower. All the hardware in our shower was broken - the plug, the shower switch, etc. Sheets on one of the beds was like sandpaper - old and scratchy. Bad smell in the hotel room too. The beach on our side of the hotel was kind of muddy/wet/hard. Not sandy. Didnt' check out the other side though. On the flip side, nice people with good service, and lots of fun activities for kids. Only downside is that you had to pre-reserve all activities and they seemed to book up quickly even though we didn't see a lot of people using them. Kids really enjoyed the mini golf course.

Great trip
Traveled celebrating our anniversary in a quiet area and had a perfect time. Location was close to all the places we wanted to see and shared the sunset with a bottle of champagne from the resort.

Dirty Room on Arrival and Loud Parties
When we checked in our room was not clean, the sheets on the pull-out sofa bed were dirty (hair and stains), the floor was filthy and one of the doors in the bathroom did not work/close. We did report this to the front desk and they sent housekeeping for the first two issues but were not able to fix the door. Not sure how we were able to check into a room that was not clean. We also had to deal with a party the first night in the room with guests in the bungalow behind us. I called security 4 times before they did anything about it which kept us all up past 11:00 pm (we have 2 young daughters). The main pool was also terribly dirty (needs a serious power wash)! Our feet were black from walking barefoot in the area. Overall, what was supposed to be a special staycation for our daughter's birthday ended up being a wast of $$. We were offered less than a 5% credit of our overall stay as compensation. Not at all up to the standards. There are much better locations in San Diego and we recommend you stay elsewhere if you want a clean and quiet experience.

Wonderful stay
Wonderful resort and very family friendly. Lots of fun activities for kids and fairly safe for them to bike or walk around on their own. Front desk gives you food to feed the ducks and turtles or you can purchase at the gift store. Gift store also has everything you need to roast marshmallows in one of the bay fire pits at night Carlo’s in reservations went above and beyond ! Gave us great tips for our stay and helped us picked a great room For our family of 4.

not a RESORT, more like a motel 6 with tropical grounds
Room was infested with ants, spiders and gnats. Bedsheets ripped and dirty. Musty pet smell coming from AC. Staff seemed to not care much. The grounds look ok and lots of families but when you get in the room or even the lobby you are like how is this a resort?????
