2nd year and same amazing stay
This was our second year to stay at One Ski Hill Place for our family ski trip. We have a 7 and 6 year old that we brought with us (younger three stayed at home). The place is amazing. The staff is excellent— From Brian and Dylan inside to Nate and Andrew outside as ski valets. Everything was great. The location is amazing. If you are skiing with kids, stay here. The ability to rent skis next to the hotel and valet each day is unbeatable. The hotel has a great pool and hot tub. Getting into town is super easy using the shuttle service or courtesy car. The bowling alley provided tons of fun. The nightly cookies and hot chocolate were a favorite of the kids. The rooms are incredible. We had a two bedroom and had my wife and two kids and a friend of my wife’s for 2 of our 4 nights. We had plenty of space. If you are wondering if it is worth it, it is. Book your stay and enjoy.
Very nice resort
Overall we had an excellent stay with just a few small issues that prevent me from giving this resort 5 stars. Pros: -Location right on the slope, few minute walk to the gondola that goes into town -Big spacious, clean rooms with beautiful views -Awesome pool and hot tubs -Bowling alley was fun -the shuttle to town was very convenient Cons: -Toward the end of our stay I noticed that the quality of the housekeeping services diminished. Like one day did not come at all. Or they didn’t replenish the water bottles, tea/coffee. Turndown service was nice but again they did not come every night. -breakfast buffet food was ok but too overpriced -the lunch at the “living room” restaurant was a joke, the avocado spread on my sandwich was gray -Spa massage was very good, but the spa itself is bare bones. It would be nice if there were spa amenities like teas/flavored waters. Waiting area also very basic. There were no major issues that would prevent me from staying here again.
Awesome place to stay!
My family has been to Colorado many times but this was our first time to stay in Breckenridge. I don’t ski or snowboard but the guys in our family do so I wanted to get a place where they could walk out the door and hit the slopes and I would be able to watch them while still being warm and cozy by the fire so we got a 3 bedroom condo and it had a perfect view of everything going on. We really loved the place and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We used the bowling alley twice while we were there and had a blast! They have a gondola that is right on the property that brings you straight to town or you can ride on the shuttle, we used both and all worked out well. They also have fresh baked cookies in the lobby everyday along with hot chocolate! I cannot wait to go back and we will definitely be staying here again.
Ski In/Ski Out Perfection
We just came home from a 4 day vacation in a 2bed/2bath slope side condo. We brought two toddlers with us and there was so much to do for everyone! The entire condo was extremely clean. One thing that surprised us was that they actually cleaned the room every day and brought new towels. We expected this to be more of an airbnb since individual people actually own the condos. The beds were also worth mentioning- they were a dream to sleep on. There was a ton to do for the littles including an indoor 'baby pool' that was 2ft deep and an indoor bowling alley. We had the pool/hot tub area to ourselves both days that we used them, which was really surprising. My littles especially enjoyed riding on the gondala that was just steps from the resort. We also took advantage of Carter Park- a small ski hill just a few minutes away. An amenity worth mentioning was the ski valet. We had our skis delivered to us from rentskis.com. The guys arrived on time and fitted us for our skis, boots, and helmets. They then took them over to the valet that was offered at the resort. This was fantastic because we never had to worry about lugging our skis around or placing them in lockers. The valet always had them ready to go in the morning and knew us by name the first day we arrived. They were always so friendly and helpful- they even helped us get all bundled up for the slopes the day that we skied during a blizzard. On our last day, the valet called the rental place and took care of sending them back for us. The heated underground garage was a fantastic amenity and there were always plenty of spots to park in! This especially made loading and unloading the vehicle easy. The same elevator that takes you to your room also takes you to the underground parking garage. This was extremely convenient. Two restaurants worth mentioning include 'The Mint'- a 30 minute drive to Silverthorn, CO and Giampietro in Breckenridge. Also, T-Bar on the 1st floor of the resort has an awesome atmosphere for a ski break. Overall, this was a fantastic experience and we can't wait to go back! We would not stay anywhere else!
Overpriced with Nothing to Show for It
The Good: - Location of the hotel is very convenient at the base of peak 8. - Room was nice (with the exception of dirty bed sheets, see below) The Bad: - Concierge staff do not know their own hotel and provide bad/mis-information - Breakfast restaurant only serves a limited buffet which is of lower quality than a Motel 6. For example: No oatmeal and the serving utensils are laying directly on the table as opposed to utensil trays or at least small plates to keep the dirty tables from contaminating the serving spoons. - Grossly understaffed - Valet and shuttle staff are not reliable. One night a shuttle driver (aka valet) left us stranded at the restaurant after dinner. This was after we tipped him $20 to drop us off at the restaurant for dinner. - Bed sheets in one of the bedrooms had blood stains on the sheet (very gross) - Bowling alley on first floor was closed down and they canceled our bowling reservation on two different nights We paid ~$813/night for our room ($674/night for the room, plus resort fees and taxes). For this amount we could stay in a Ritz-Carlton and get true 5 start service, better amenities, and a much better dining experience. Unless this is truly only the last option available to you, suggest you consider another property.
