    Good location. Could do with updating.

    The hotel was in a good location, only 2 or 3 minutes walk to Waikiki Beach. Right nextdoor to the International Market Place, Waikiki Food Market (Supermarket) straight across the road, as well as a large ABC store diagonally across the road. There was a coin laundry on the street level, which was available for anyone to use. Several of the washing machines and dryers however were broken. The tide boxes available to purchase at the laundry are $2. Across the road at the ABC store they are only $1.25. Aroma Cafe is located on the Lobby level of the hotel. It had lovely food and great coffee, but was only open from 6am til midday. There is a concierge service. The hotel could benefit from being updated. One big disappointment was that the pool was not available as it was being renovated. We were not told this in advance. The alternative was to use the pool at the sister hotel a couple of streets away. We didn't end up using the pool because of this reason. When we arrived we discovered the room setup we had booked was not what we had been assigned. According to the hotel this was down to our travel agent and not them. Our travel agent was very specific about our need for two bedrooms and the second needing two separate beds as we were traveling with our two adult daughters. The lovely young lady at reception managed to get us two rooms side by side, which gave us mostly what we needed, but still wasn't what we had booked. All of the staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. The extra charge when settling up at checkout was a surprise as we didn't know about it in advance. However, I think this is standard in Hawaii.

    Great Getaway

    Hotel was clean and tidy. Staff were friendly. Xi Li ensured we came back to a beautifully made up room each afternoon. It was a shame that the pool was unable to be used, but we were able to use one at another hotel about 10 minutes walk away.

    Expect a 3 star experience

    The hotel has 3 stars so that's where expectations begin. There is no pool on-site so you have to walk around the corner to another hotel. However, Waikiki Beach is approximately 400m away. The hotel is very well situated for shopping with the International Marketplace close by for delicious food and high end stores for spending money. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, although one receptionist thought it would be funny to make fun of a guest for asking, what she thought, was a silly question about accessing the wifi. Not nice. The hotel is old and very busy, so expect a wait in the check in line. The gentleman at the door was lovely and friendly and very helpful. The Ohana was part of our package deal. It was okay.

    Personal Touch Counts at Ohana East

    This is one of those hotels where the staff get to know you, know your needs, and do everything they can to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. That's hard to find in today's corporate hotel world, but at the Ohana Outrigger East you're going to find it! Shout out to Marilou. She was the best!

    Great affordable hotel nearby to everything

    Nice central location, short walk to everything, clean and tidy hotel with an on-site cafe and very professional tour booking agent. Front desk staff were great, Our room attendant Lin was fantastic & responsive. Disappointed the pool was under refurb and not available. Really enjoyed our stay, thankyou.
