Excellent Price and overall 10/10
We just spent 10 nights at this hotel and we were very impressed. We have been to Hawaii many times and for the price which included breakfast it was 10/10. The room was big and the pictures online didn't do it justice as it was much nicer than we thought it would be. The Gym is brand new with all the latest new machines. The pool area was redone during Covid and it is beautiful. The chap that looked after the pool area was a real stand out for us, he never stopped cleaning and really gave great service. His name was Shandan and definitely made our time more enjoyable. Overall from receptionists to cleaners each day we will definitely go back.

Great staff, fair rooms.
Marylou checked us in quickly, efficiently, and helped with a reservation snafu, we really want to thank her as it saved our girls trip. Rooms are standard. The rooms are a bit dated, but the service and warm welcome from Marylou made up for it. The TV selections were limited and don't let you link to any streaming services. The hot water went in/out during the shower. Having more consistent hot water would have been more comfortable, as I don't love a cold shower. 3 stars for the for dated room but 5 stars for service from Marylou and the bell men. Her Aloha meant the world to us!

Foodcation
Marilou was so awesome with checking us in after some issues with our reservation. We had a great stay. We were also able to leave our bags so we could explore more easily. Would definitely stay again

Aloha goes a long way.
Marilou was incredibly helpful at the front desk and remembered us at check out which really brought the Aloha. All staff interaction was kind. The bellmen had to unload a uhaul of bags and stopped what they were doing just to assist us. Mahalo nui from your Kona guests.

Friendliest staff but very noisy
As previous reviews stated, this hotel has not been updated since the 70's. But it is very clean. We had no issues with room or hotel as far as functionality or cleanliness. They finished remodeling the pool area and it is very nice. You can reserve a cabana for free must must call desk to reserve. There are two large and five nests cabanas. Towels for pool are provided. Sunscreen too! Bathroom showers are very small, so some may have difficulty with that. BUT they are remodeling some rooms, so above us there were power tools being used ALL day that were very loud. Good thing we were gone most of the days as the few times we returned for naps, the noise was terrible. Also are building a new building across the street, so hotel currently is very noisy. But the staff was fantastic! Thanks Angie and Gabriel for excellent service. And housekeeping great as well. If you had a need, you'd have someone at your room in five minutes or less! Be advised there are parking and hotel resort fees not included in price so plan accordingly. The coffee shop in lobby as very good. Try the guava waffles! The most beautiful presentation and tasted great.
