Vacaton in Hawaii at Ohana Waikiki East

Really enjoyed our stay at the Ohana Waikiki East! We were checked in with a great big smile and excellent service by Angie! We appreciated all the tourist tips she and the rest of the friendly hotel staff gave us. Really appreciated being treated so warmly. Great location and clean rooms too. Highly recommend to stay at this hotel if you are also looking for reasonable price!

    Elevator noise

Our room was located next to the elevator. The room wrapped around the elevator shaft, so all we heard all night were the elevators going up and down. The clock in our room had a pre-set alarm for 6am. They are still charging ‘resort’ amenities fees when their pool is out of operation. We complained about our experience and they did refund us the resort fee. However they should not offer the room behind the elevator to any guest. It also had a very average view of 3 different car parks. I would expect better from any hotel, particularly one charging $300 a night. What an awful experience we had.

    Great Location

My first time to stay at this hotel. I love the location and the prices. It's and easy 2 block walk to the beach and its is located in the heart of Waikiki making easy to enjoy the restaurants and shops and festivals. The hotel offers a variety of restaurants and easy in and out parking. My room was spacious and had a small balcony with seating to enjoy my semi-ocean view. Some of the decor is dated but it is all well kept and very clean. I am definitely returning.

Weekly Stay in a central location

Raymond our Concierge was always so helpful with good advice. Make sure you say Aloha and Mahalo to him every day on street level. Friendly Reception always very efficient & service with smiles. Hotel room serviced daily and clean. Xi Li was my housekeeper on 17th Floor. She did an excellent job job and waited until after we had gone out for the day.

    Great service and unhampered showerhead

I had a two double bed room on the 15th floor (tip: use the express elevator around the corner from the three main elevators). The room was larger than expected, although the bathroom was a little cramped. The sink is in the same room as the toilet, which reduces multi-person use. The showerhead effused with plenty of water flow. I'd say the most water flow I've ever seen in a hotel. Parking with in/out privileges was convenient, although it did require an extra daily fee. Note that the parking garage entrance is on Kuhio Ave. My GPS sent me to the drop-off entrance on Kanekapolei St. Because the in-house pool was closed we were directed to use the pool at their sister property the Waikiki Beachcomber. While this property seemed to be just around the corner on the map they provided, the actual walk there was a little longer than I expected. Our stay included breakfast vouchers, redeemable at the Aroma Caffee in the lobby level or the Fire Grill across the street at the Garden Inn. Various breakfast sandwiches were available to select with the voucher, or any entree was available for a $5 upgrade fee. The Fire Grill is a more formal sit down restaurant. There the voucher is good for two eggs plus two sides (meat/potatoes), or the voucher can be redeemed for $12 off any other breakfast entree. I only have two negatives to say. One is that the A/C only has 4 modes: high, med, low, off. You can't choose a specific temperature. Also there is some sound leakage between rooms as I could hear some talking and faint snoring at times, but nothing loud enough to disturb my sleep.
