Good Vibes at the Front Desk, Lazy Vibes in Management
The front desk staff were awesome—friendly, upfront, and no nonsense. No surprise fees or hidden charges, just honest service. The room itself was a little dated and showing some wear, but nothing major. For the price, it was a great deal—I was comfortable and got a good night’s rest. My only real issue was with the follow-up on housekeeping. Whoever is supposed to check the room after it's cleaned clearly isn’t doing their job. I found some leftover trash and paper under the bed, which shows a lack of supervision and poor management. Docking one star for the manager who seems to be phoning it in.

Poor Hotel stay in Amarillo
This hotel-La Quinta in the Amarillo medical district. Hotel was not the best. It was Dirty and not well kept-bathroom was very dirty and also there was no hot water. Very loud also on the first floor-could hear loud guests outside all evening as well as pets in a room nearby.

Not a Wyndham and La Quinta asset.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. However, in all other aspects this location is not an asset to the Wyndham and La Quinta brands. The furnishings are very tired. The chair in our room is broken. The tub/shower does not drain well. The toilet is loose. There is a paper towel stuffed in the former peep hole in the door. To block out the road noise we had to run our fan all night. There are no extra outlets fo charging devices. One of the bedside lamps did not work. If we ever stay in Amarillo again we will be making another choice for a hotel.

Run down
Pros - The staff was friendly and check-in and check-out were a breeze. - Walking distance to places to eat. - Bed was comfortable. Cons - See pics below. Room was in bad shape. Bedding was stained, had excess amount of hair on it, and had burn holes. - Mirror in room was dirty with lip prints on it. - Walls, outlets and baseboards were chipped, cracked, and coming off. - Shower ceiling was peeling off and glass was full of soap scum. - TV was mounted too far from outlet so it had to face away from the beds just so it could reach and the satellite box was unplugged. At the price point I got the room at I’d probably stay here again but only if there was nothing better available.

Run from this one
We had a reservation. The property and room lacked the general standards I expect from LaQuinta. Upon arrival, we did not feel comfortable nor safe. These are exterior rooms and there are steps to maneuver when using the cart. We found numerous gouges in the room walls. The entry door looked like a drink had been poured down it. Other room windows looked like drinks had been thrown at them. There was something resembling vomit by the elevator, not to mention the doors in the lobby were filthy. This was equal to a low rate hotel. If you enjoy Waffle House, it is next door. Since the manager wouldn't refund our reservation when we said we would not stay there, we offered to donate our room to a homeless person for the night so they could have a warm place to sleep for the night. The clerk immediately grabbed the keys from us. So, no room for someone who may have appreciated it.
