Vacation 2023
The entertainment team was spectacular; always had many activities planned for all of the guests. They were extremely friendly and wanted to create a great experience. My week stay was so much fun.

No good 😕
rooms need to be renovated, the mini bar was empty, the shower does not drain, the soap jar was empty. The first look on room was terrible. Only food and pools were good that's it. I never recommend this resort.

It was really great!
We had an amazing stay! I love how family friendly it was! The staff is beyond phenomenal! They are why the stay was so much more special! I’d like to recognize Daniel, he was like family, Elihut from entertainment was one of a kind and so unique, will always be remembered! I could recognize many, but that would take too long! Housekeeping staff was special as well and overall we had a great stay and will definitely revisit!

Iberostar need to sort out these issues
I have given this hotel the actual star rating provided by a senior member of the Ibersostar concierge team. I booked a 2 week 5* all inclusive holiday, it fell short on many occassions but some are minor issues with the following exceptions; The concierge team repeatedly asked me to attend a timeshare presentation at the Grand, 5 times in the first 3 days, 8 times in total. They asked me after a 11 hour flight, they called the room, they came to the room, they spoke to me whilst I was on a sun bed and at the bar. It was at the bar where a man from the conciege team explained that the Iberostar Parasio Del Mar is NOT a 5* resort but a 2/3* resort, he then invited me to spend my last two days at the actual 5* resort (of course, I had to sit through a 90 minute presentation first). I was very shocked but everything fell into place. The service, food and small touches that make a 5* resort had been missing all along. Some of the speciality restaurants are just poor, La Hacienda was dreadful and the French restaurant was worse. All of the buffet restaurants, bars and entertainment areas are open plan with no air con, so, they get VERY, VERY hot. There is , of course, an evening resturant that does have air con but its $35 a head, quite surprising in an all inclusive resort. Iberostar claim this is because they are a eco-friendly resort, but it just does not make sense. The former cigar bar, now a supoermarket is fully air conditioned. You can see people popping in and out to cool down, they never buy anything because it is 3 to 4 times more expensive than shops at the local town. Tipping. I am very lucky to have visited several 5* resorts and this resort is the first where the staff expect tips, in cash, after every meal and every order at the bar. Again, very unusual for an all inclusive resort, especially when you are visiting for 14 days. We would have needed to carry hundreds of dollars in singles. In my experience (Jamaica, Turks and Caicos and Mauritius), they provide a gratuity box as you leave, a much better idea. I will finish with my thanks to the public relations team, entertainment staff (no one works harder) and my thanks for a beautiful room with fantastic air con.
