    Family vacation, great time!

First family.vacation in almost 10years.... There was such great service at the front desk with all of the concierges, very friendly! Some were a bit pushy with the "breakfast" and "time share" But not Jessica was always amazing as our concierge! Super fun and friendly. Find her when you arrive, she is great!!

ABSOLUTE WORST RESORT- DO NOT STAY

This is the absolute worst resort I have ever stayed at and my boyfriend and I have stayed at five different resorts in Mexico. We picked this resort based off of the amazing reviews. The ONLY reason they have good reviews is because people are HOUNDED by staff members demanding reviews and will not leave your side until you write one. The staff is insanely rude to non Spanish speakers and we experienced in almost every restaurant discrimination in seating availability because we spoke in English. My boyfriend decided to play golf one day with his friend and last minute his friend was hurt and could no longer play- we still went and were told that we would NEVER be invited back due to his friend not being able to play and I was charged $50 for riding in the golf cart with him. The pool is a joke- it is literally a hot tub that never once got cleaned in the 7 days we stayed and had band aids and garbage floating in it. The drinks and food are wildly inconsistent and in some places inedible. In the Mexican restaurant we experienced a blackout- the entire resort descended into darkness and chaos with the staff members not caring about our concerns and giving incorrect information that was making us stressed we could potentially be under attack. There was a convention one day with HUNDREDS of men who made every woman feel insanely uncomfortable to the point where women were yelling at them in restaurants and lobbies to stop staring and making lewd comments. We were nickeled and dimed at every turn with the prices in the gift shop being extremely unreasonable. I broke my flip flops and wanted to replace them to find dollar store shoes being sold for $97. On our last night we woke up and found BLOOD on our sheets that housekeeping had changed. COMPLETELY DISGUSTING!!! When we were checking out we spoke to GASPAR the manager- who argued with us about every point we had to make and eventually said all I can do is offer you a apology upon which he never actually did and told us to write a review. I am absolutely appalled at this resort and I don’t want a bs response saying thank you for leaving a review I want my money back because this was the worst experience we have ever had. TO RECAP COME HERE IF YOU WANT UNSANITARY CONDITIONS, RUDE EMPLOYEES, AND TO WASTE YOUR MONEY.

    Good value, family friendly.

All the service was excellent. Jess at the concierge service was especially kind to give me some replacement coupons when I had lost my first set. One single resort complex has three different hotels within it, with three beautiful grand lobbies, lots of fountains, lots of landscaping, and even some animals walking around. There are several restaurants to choose from. while they were not all my favorite, the quality was equally exceptional at all of them. My favorite was the Mediterranean restaurant where the server put on an excellent display making a fiery cocktail. in general, I feel like this is an excellent value for the accommodation in the whole experience, especially for families with elementary and middle school age children. I highly recommend the day trip to Park Xcaret. We have stayed at Catalonia Royal Tulum a couple years ago, and this was a very different experience. We found Catalonia to be smaller and more intimate than Iberostar, and the beach was cleaner here, but Catalonia was better for a quiet couples getaway with no distractions. Iberostar was much closer to the airport though, which was nice. And Catalonia was much closer to the Mayan ruins at Tulum, which was an awesome day trip - highly recommend for history and culture lovers.

    NIGHTMARE. DO NOT STAY.

DO NOT COME HERE. Hordes of horny men who do not respect the opposite sex. A convention was held with rural Mexicans that have never seen a woman. They made every woman uncomfortable to the point that the staff has had to separate that group to going to one bar. Besides that, every pool is a thousand degrees and at times felt like everyone was going to pass out from heat stroke. Pools smell and ARE NOT CLEANED. VERY SLIPPERY AND SLIMEY. Food is subpar and lacks seasoning and pride. Drinks are widely inconsistent at every bar. Everyone will hound you to become a member of their “star prestige/exclusive member” where they stick you in a presentation for 2 hours and then ask for $20,000 down payment. AT EVERY CHANCE THEY WILL TRY TO UP CHARGE AND NICKEL & DIME YOU. The staff is nice but lacks conversational English (not a deal breaker but I didn’t see that in any other review)
