STUDENT/YOUTH GROUPS POLICY - In order to maintain a family-oriented environment, Iberostar Hotels and Resorts will be implementing a policy directed at student/youth groups.   • All student/youth groups must be pre-approved and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

    Cell phone mysteriously disappeared on first night staying here

    I've been a loyal Iberostar customer and traveled for to Grand Rose Hall for the 2nd time in 6 months on June 18th bringing my staff with me as a business celebration. On the 1st night of the trip my cell phone mysteriously disappeared- either from the room or the restaurant. After realizing it was missing I attempted to call it and although it was fully charged it had been turned off. I was able to track the phone and it was last showing at the resort around the time that it went missing. I alerted security and checked back with them multiple times during the week to no avail so I ordered a new phone upon returning home. One June 29th I sent an email asking if my phone had been found as was told that the same model phone was found without the identifying case. I was asked to provide the serial # which I forwarded immediately to Syrecka at the resort. She told me on 6/30 in an email that she would forward it to their security team to "assist in the investigation." On July 12th I sent another email as I hadn't heard from anyone at Iberostar. That same night I received another email from Syrecka stating "We do have great news: a guests (sic) did find your cell phone that that matched the IMEI number and mailed it back to us." She then asked if I had an international FedEx shipping account (I don't) and asked me to mail her a shipping label and she would have the phone picked up. The other option in lieu of having a FedEx account was filling out an authorization form, providing my credit card back and front and a signature ID with all matching signatures and the address to send it to. On July 15th I advised that I don't have a FedEx account and there was no authorization form attached. I was told not to worry about the form and that they would send me my phone. On July 19th I received another email asking for the value of the phone and was told by Syrecka that she completed the forms but since no value was add it was rejected for pickup until the value was provided. I emailed back that day and provided the value. I didn't receive another response until August 5th and was told the the phone was "mailed off and she apologized for the delay." I did receive tracking information from DHL (not FedEx) on August 3rd stating that the phone would be delivered Friday the 5th but it never arrived. I then received an email at 9:30pm that same day- again from Syrecka informing me that "the phone was mailed off and apologies for the delay." The was this has been handled has been wholly unacceptable and I will not be returning to this resort regardless of how much we have enjoyed it in the past. And at this point I'm not even certain that my phone ever left the resort or was "mailed back by a guest" - it shouldn't take almost a month from when I was told my property was recovered (which was 3 weeks after we returned) to have it returned to me. I finally received the phone back today and the SIM card had been removed and the case is gone. Watch your property closely because if it goes missing they certainly won't be in any hurry to get it back to you.

    Now where do I start? 🤔

    Now where do I start...hmmmm First Stay Babe planned a Birthday get away for me and originally we were booked to stay @ the suites. However, we were upgraded to The Grand; not sure if this was because it was my birthday & they felt generous, either way we didn’t mind one bit 😊. The weekend started with us checking in at the Grand and the upgrades kept coming - we were upgraded to a beachfront view room; this was breathtaking. The Grand is an adult only area. As guests at The Grand, we had access to the other 2 properties - sweet right 😉. The staff were very pleasant; so hospitable. A well kept property with amazing meal options. Not the cheapest place to stay but worth every dollar!! Second Stay We enjoyed our first stay so much that babe booked another birthday stay at The Grand but for a longer period. However, the service and the demeanour of the staff had drastically ‘declined’ which was rather disappointing as high quality service is what we expected based on our previous stay and we spoke so highly of The Grand to so many of our friends - so you can imagine the disappointment. The food was still amazing but the property was now operating with many limitations regarding activities, amenities, etc. The second stay was during the Covid pandemic as such we understand certain limitations. However, the issue with low-level service and unfriendly staff needs to be addressed as this will ‘demolish’ what we know is a beautiful and promising property.

    Such a great trip!!!

    This was my family's first trip to Jamaica. It was my husband, myself and our 2 grown daughters (ages 20 and 22). We had 2 rooms at the adults only resort and were so glad with our decision to stay at this resort instead of the suites. It was quiet and clean yet just enough activities to keep it interesting. The view from our rooms was gorgeous. Our concierge, Chantal, arranged our dinner reservations when we arrived and was very helpful in making some changes for us. We were able to eat at all of the restaurants (Italian, French, Surf and Turf and Japanese) except the Jamaican restaurant all of which we throughly enjoyed and have no complaints. The breakfast and lunch buffets everyday had an amazing selection. A big shout out to one of the food staff, LaTheresa, who looked after me and made sure I had gluten free bread available everyday - she made a huge difference in my trip! We also enjoyed getting to know some of the entertainment staff, in particular Sonic and Bubbles, who encouraged us to participate in some activities and shows which turned out to be a lot of fun! We had a very relaxing and fun vacation and will definitely be back!

    Iberostar Grand Rose Hall Beach 🏝

    We just recently got back from our first ever trip to Jamaica 🇯🇲 and what an EXPERIENCE! We had a personal driver the entire stay which made getting around less stressful. As soon as we arrived to the resort after checking in we were approached by our lovely concierge host Carla Drummonds! She was polite, funny, and helpful. She booked dining, excursions, and gave us ideas on what to expect on our 4 days/5 nights trip. She was always available to us and it made us feel special. The resort is gorgeous and lively. The food, customer service, drinks, and nightlife made it a very memorable experience! We’re already planning our next trip back!

    Exceptional Stay! Don't listen to the haters!

    We just returned home yesterday from our stay here at Iberostar Grand Rose Hall. We travelled as 2 couples, and would rate our trip 5/5 – it was absolutely amazing. Here are our (lengthy) thoughts, while really fresh in our minds, tabulated from our group of 4. Apologies in advance for the long-winded review, but I think this resort deserves its kudos: Resort/Décor: The décor/atmosphere in the lobby bar & outside in the pool & beach area is fantastic. Pretty & quaint and feels quite luxurious. We all loved our rooms. The layout is functional, and comfortable, and the rooms are huge. The tableware & stemware at the restaurants was top-notch. Some people have commented that the rooms and parts of the resort feel dated. And while yes, not modern and contemporary, this resort does really have a strong island feel & vibe and we simply cannot find anything to complain about. If you find fault with this place, I can’t help think your standards are far above what they should be? If we had to fight hard to find something, it would be the a/c at night – the rooms have a sensor so they don’t unnecessarily use power when not needed, so it felt a little warm at night when I think the sensors couldn’t detect anyone in the room (while sleeping). But honestly, I do not understand anyone who complains about the décor. Food: The food here is absolutely fantastic. I have heard some mixed reviews here in this group and online about the food, but let me tell you, as 4 people who eat out a lot, this food was great! Each restaurant serves you an assortment of bread, appetizer, main and dessert of your choosing. You want more apps or mains, sure, no problem, they will give you whatever you want. But the portions are not skimpy here, so be prepared. Here are my brief thoughts on each place we ate, ranked from what we felt was our favourite to least favourite, but it is important to note, we LOVED THEM ALL! One thing we noticed as a general rule is that we didn’t love the desserts at the restaurants. Some were decent, but all in that, that was an area we thought lacked a little bit. Es Palau (Gourmet): This was our favourite. The entire experience is lovely. We had Dwayne as our server and he was super! The food here is beautifully presented and if you order the lobster bisque or salmon, your meal has a little flare to it in how they present it. We absolutely loved it here and so will you! Try the beet dessert – it was super unique and delicious. We ate: lobster bisque, pate, mussels, salmon, chicken, duck and the tenderloin – all were exceptional! La Toscana (Italian): This was so good, we ate here twice. I have heard reviews that this food was bad/gross/not Italian – honestly, I don’t know how anyone can say this. We tried pretty much the entire menu it felt like, and everything was perfect and delicious and hearty. Our server here was Rashea and she was PERFECT – our favourite server of the trip. We were lucky to have her both times we ate here, and on our final night, Dwayne, from Es Palau was there too – it was perfect. We ate: fried bocconcini, eggplant parm, caprese & caser salad, frido misto (deep-friend seafood, so good), lasagna, lobster & risotto, ravioli, spaghetti pomodoro, penne arrabiata – all of it was exceptional. This is a very close tie to Es Palau as our favourite. Surf & Turf (Galleon): We also ate here twice! Really lovely atmosphere here and the steaks and seafood we had were cooked perfectly and delicious. While it may not be the same quality of steak you’d get at a place at home, this was still a million miles above what we expected. We all loved our meals here and you will too. We had: The raw bar, tempura vegetables, goat cheese salad, salmon, rib eye, tenderloin & New York steaks – all were fantastic! Kiniro (Teppanyaki): For 3 of us, this was our first teppanyaki experience. We’re from Canada, and they don’t have many places like that here. Whereas in the US, I think it’s more common. We loved it here, it was fun, lively and the food was good. We were served as an entire table all the same food: Sushi appetizer, followed by a tempura appetizer, then fried rice, steak, chicken, lobster and vegetables, and finally a dessert plate. All delicious and we came out of here feeling quite full. Jamaican Restaurant: While I have listed this last, it is still fantastic! This restaurant is also the lunch buffet on the beach & converts to dining at night, and is a really pretty spot, but it is hot. Being open-air, and little air movement, it does get quite hot to eat here. We tried: Jerk chicken spring rolls, ackee rolls, curry lobster, goat curry, pepper steak, lamb, & oxtail. While some of these were out of our comfort zone, we figured we would give them a try and were all very happy. Our least favourite was the curry goat, but it was still good. Breakfast/lunch buffet: There is one option for breakfast (besides room service), and that is the breakfast buffet. It has plenty of options for whatever you feel like, you won’t be disappointed. Lunch buffet has a lot of Jamaican options, with some other things too. The pasta station is delicious, the tuna salad is really good. Patties, rice, you name it – there is plenty to enjoy here. For lunch you also have the beachside grill which has burgers, hot dogs (more of sausage to what we are used to, but SOOO good), fries, patties and of course, jerk chicken. The chicken is soooooo good. Also, every couple of days they do additional beach grill items like philly cheesesteak, jerk chicken stirfry, grilled shrimp, etc . We ate here most days. Service: Wow – that’s all I can say is wow. From Syrecka who helped us get our reservations sorted before we arrived, and then followed up with us after day 5 to sort out the final 2 dinners – she was thorough and lovely and we are so grateful for her support. We had heard mixed reviews on the butlers, so we didn’t know what to expect, but it was more than perfect. We had Omar & Terrance as our butlers. Omar bore the brunt of most of our needs the way his shifts worked, LOL - but let me tell you, he was fantastic! 5 stars for Omar (and Terrance too), both were always quick on the draw to help us out with whatever we needed, from getting wine and ice to our rooms almost every night, to helping sort out room service for us a bunch of times too, you name it, they were there. Even reaching out to us to find out if all was okay when he hadn’t seen us one morning. We also had a little issue one day, and I won’t get into the details because it is not relevant, but something happened and within 1-2 minutes, security was there, and all staff were hands on deck to help sort things out. The way everyone came together to help us was shocking in the speed they showed up, and how eager they were to help resolve it. In the end, things worked out, so that is great, but we are grateful to the staff for being so on top of it. So, thank you. Now, to all the other staff, holy smokes – people talked about how awesome the service was and they were not joking. Some of the most hospitable people we have ever met. We are not big game/activity people and still managed to be impacted by so many people. Here are some of those that truly did make our stay memorable: Omar & Terrance of course, Syrecka too, plus Keon at the pool bar, Lisa, Smiley & Baywatch, Rashea and Dwayne from the restaurants – these folks really truly did help us make our trip more enjoyable. Lastly, if you are looking for some “fun” – see Bobby on the beach. Some of the others are quite pushy and insincere, but Bobby is kind, patient and not aggressive at all. We use Club Mobay when we arrived & departed and if you can book this, do it. It is well worth the experience on both end. We used Ryan Sinclair (RGS Tours) for our private shuttle service each way, and it seamless and perfect – highly recommend both.
