General policies & fine print
Check-in Policy - Hotel requires a credit/debit card authorization or cash deposit upon check-in for incidentals; this will place a hold on your funds.
Convention Policy - Individuals attending a convention cannot book this property for their stay. If found attending a convention, guests may be subject to higher room rates upon arrival.
Transfer Policy - A price may display when children stay free, if your vacation includes transfer to your hotel.
General Information - Room taxes and service fees are included in vacation price. Minimum night stay restrictions may apply. Reservation changes may not be permitted unless authorized by the hotel.
Spring Break Policy - Bookings in the months of March and April will be subject to the following conditions:
- The minimum age requirement for check-in is 18. One parent or chaperone at least 25 years of age will be required per room for check-in.
- Students/youth between 16 and 23 years of age. Adults accompanying are responsible for the students’ behaviour. of the remaining nights.
- In the event that any guests engage in inappropriate behaviour or cause physical damages to the facilities, the Hotel Management reserves the right to expel the said guest without reimbursement or refund of the remaining nights.

Really amazing vacation! This was our first full service resort we stayed in and it was everything we could have imagined for our honeymoon. Our butlers Kelvin and Ceser took care of us every step of the way and really make the experience something special! The resort was clean, the people were friendly and sites were beautiful. We took full advantage of the spa, buggy trip, snorkeling, and zip lining and the resort made it easy and safe to get where we needed to go. We highly recommend this resort for anyone who wants a relaxing get away and wants to feel a little pampered along the way!
Great relaxing vacation
We stayed here for 7 days and everything was great. Food was amazing, service was top notch and our butler Fermin was there to make sure we were completely satisfied. Lely made the best drinks at the pool bar and we loved the nightly music at the lobby!
Hands down the absolute best all-inclusive resort I have been to! From the time you are greeted to the moment you leave, the level of service and care is outstanding in my opinion. Our butlers Darlin & Justo were fantastic! I cannot say enough good things, thank you gentlemen for going above and beyond in taking care of our every wish and then some! Our pool server Tobias we will never forget you, outstanding service and detection, Iberostar give this man a raise, always served us well and with a smile, even through those extremely hot and humid conditions. Our room was super clean and always smelled fresh, the women keeping our room clean and tidy twice a day did and amazing job! The grounds on this property are absolutely gorgeous, the detail care that goes into this property’s grounds are such a joy to admire, and all done without any type of noisy machinery, just amazing! This place is absolute zen, we loved every part of this trip! Thank you Iberostar Grand we will be back!
This trip gave me mixed feelings. We’ve stayed at this resort several times (7-8?) and if it wasn’t for the amazing staff, I would probably not come back. Ery, Marlon, Starling, Excellente, and several others have been outstanding. We were just here in May and had a wonderful trip, however they started selling something like a timeshare/discount membership thing that we decided to not join. Since then, we feel things have started to change. We booked 3 rooms - I actually did the booking myself. All the same suite style room. Upon checking in, they stated 1 room was in a different category than the others. Turns out it was ours, we somehow had the lowest category room which looks at the family resort. If you’ve been here, you know the bathroom isn’t well covered and I’m pretty sure anybody outside can see your business. So when looking directly at a building, you don’t feel comfortable using the restroom. I asked to be moved and they told me our room was too low of a category. I explained that the other two rooms I booked had resort/ocean views and they said they were a higher category - how is this possible? It would cost another $1000 to look at the resort, to which we were then told would be on the first floor right next to the theatre… no thank you. The equipment is broken for some activities such as archery so you can no longer do that, they couldn’t make mojitos until a few days into our trip and room choice is limited upon booking. We didn’t even know if we could get a king room until we got here. It all seemed very strange. On top of that, dinner reservations where a big issue. Upon arrival we were greeted by our favorite bartender Ery - he can make your entire trip so much fun. Starling our butler promptly met us in our room where he got a call that reservations had just opened up for the night. I quickly grabbed dinner reservations for our group for that night. I then asked why I couldn’t get dinner any other night and he informed me that they turned them off for the week. We later found out that there was a large convention in town and they wouldn’t open reservations up until they were done booking. The next day after the pool we ran into our butler and he said there was nothing he could do. I know he was doing everything he could, and I don’t blame him. I saw him going through the same thing with other guests and I really felt bad for the pressure he was under. We are here celebrating my mom being 13 years cancer free and really wanted to eat together. We ran into Ery while on the way to the buffet and he made some arrangements and got us all into the French restaurant. Thankfully, today (Tuesday), Starling has us set up for the rest of the week. I have ran into other couples that are not so lucky, some of which it is their first time and they don’t plan to come back. You pay for all inclusive, you expect to be able to make dinner plans.

I have been to the Dominican about 20+ times and am currently still at the resort. We used to stay at the excellence hotels after having an issue there I decided to try some where else and found Iberostar grand bavaro. We have been making annual family trips hear for the last few years and my wife and I have been probably been 8+ times on our own including twice this year. The staff has always been excellent. This trip we booked 3 rooms one for ourselves and 2 more for other couples. We were told at check in that one of the rooms was in a different category even though WE booked all the same rooms at the same time. It was our room that was that was not the same while the other two face into the resort pool/ocean view area ours faces the family resort next door and while sitting on the balcony I can listen and see all the people including kids from next door. We were told there was no other rooms available unless we want to pay $300-$700 more for our trip depending on the room. Making dinner reservations this trip has been awful because there is a large party here and I guess they get priority. We were told we can’t have any dining reservations for our party for 2 more days. So only 2 days of our trip we can dine together. We have been refreshing the app all day trying to get a spot and nothing so instead of enjoying our trip with have to constantly focus on dinner. Reservations have always been tough here but this time it is completely unacceptable. Our butler starling seemed to be really trying so I fully blame the resort on this one and not him. I have been to several other resorts in the Dominican and after this trip I think I will reattempt one of them and move our annual family trips there as well. I will miss the staff but don’t want my room to be a guess and there not be a chance of us possibly not dining a will anywhere but the Buffett while we our here.
