    I miss Iberostar Cozumel

My husband and I initally stayed at Iberostar Cozumel because we were able to get a great deal. He nor I were divers but while there I talked him into taking the Discover Dive and wellah, he was hooked. He just completed his 60th dive and is currently is the Master Diver program here at home. Since that time we have returned for him to dive and me to vegetate and relax and read. I love Iberostar Cozumel because it is smaller and more intimate and just the perfect amount of guests. The food is not 5 star but still very delicious and the service is always outstanding. This is not a party resort as it is a dive resort and divers must get rest and keep sober. However, it is a wonderful place to bring generations of kids due to such a family atmosphere. One this resort just closed due to COvid right now or is it closed for something else considering other resorts on both sides of it are now open? I cannot wait to return.

    Great first time in Cozumel

My sister-in-law and I came here on a girls' trip in May 2018. It was both of our first times in Cozumel but not our first time in Mexico. It was my second time staying at an Iberostar resort, and I am so glad we chose to stay here. I had a great second experience with this resort chain. The staff (Star Friends) were one of the most memorable parts of this trip- they were so much fun and great entertainers each evening during the shows. The food was good- no negatives here, but nothing super extraordinary, which was fine with us. We loved the availability of drinks at each bar, and we felt like the bartenders really did a great job with any requests we had. The only thing that I would say anything remotely negative about is simply that the rooms probably need to just be updated. Again, it wasn't a dealbreaker with us, but compared to the Iberostar resort my husband and I stayed at in the Riviera Maya, it just seemed more outdated. There were plenty of activities to do each day if you choose to stay on the resort. We chose to do one excursion (Xel-Ha), and setting it up was very easy with the help of the staff in charge of booking excursions. I was sad to leave, but I can't wait to go back! Iberostar is always a great choice, no matter which resort location you choose!

    Fantastic Resort!

Absolutely loved everything about this resort! We have travelled to resorts all over the the tropics and go anywhere from 3-5 times per year. This was our first visit to this resort and we will definitely be back! Some of us have already booked for next March already! We travelled over the Canadian March Break, March 13-20, 2020 (without knowing that Covid was about to really go crazy while we were there). We travelled as a group of 15 (5 families) with 6 kids ranging in age from 10-17. Everyone loved it! The resort is one of the cleanest, most hygienic resorts we have ever been too. The rooms were immaculate, the grounds were always clean with constant attention, the public washrooms were always kept up and the restaurants and buffets were spotless. The rooms are on the small side, with just the basics. It's not the luxury sprawling rooms of some of the newer resorts, but the quaintness of the rooms and the feeling of the grounds made it feel comfortable, and again, the rooms were so clean, that it made up for it. The patio with the hammock gave such a nice feeling with the beautiful lush tropical grounds surrounding us. We were on the ground level (which I usually don't care for), but at this resort, it was extremely relaxing. Each building contains 4 rooms. The resort looks like a little "Smurf" type village. It's really cute. We even had peacocks come visit us on our patio several afteroons. The room has a mini fridge with beer and pop in it and there are glass jar bottles that can be refilled with water at the various outdoor water filling stations found just outside the rooms (eco friendly). Ice can also be had there. The bathrooms have lotion, shampoo, conditioner and soap in dispensers. Plenty of towels always available. The pool is lovely, clean and there are plenty of chairs. The towel hut is located here and there was never any shortage of towels. The beach is wonderful! Clean and long. Lots of chairs and just beautiful! We never felt crowed at any time and this was during March Break! There is a lot of coral if you enter from the beach itself, but they have built a long pier that makes it very easy to access the water where it is very clear and beautiful to enter. The fish here are awesome and makes for great snorkeling. The beach bar here is great, severing everything you could want! The service is brilliant and always with a smile! The food.....oh the food!!!!!! Probably some of the best food we've ever had at an all inclusive, and that includes the buffet! The buffets were outstanding!!!! We LOVED them!!! They flavour was fantastic! The food does not taste like it is mass produced. Perhaps that is the bonus of going to a smaller resort. The food was always fresh and delicious! Loads of variety. We were constantly asked if we wanted drinks, and our plates were always quickly cleared. If you can't find something to eat at the buffets, then the problem is you, not them! We also enjoyed the a-la-cartes as it is nice to be served dinner. Service was exceptional and the food was great! No complaints whatsover! The outdoor dining areas also have a mesh surrounding them so the birds and other wildlife cannot get in and make a mess flying around leaving their droppings all over or trying to get at the food. A great touch and not one often seen at many resorts! There is a lot of nature to be found throughout the grounds. Peacocks roam freely. I think the biggest hit are the flamingos! They are beautiful! The only thing that was possibly a little lacking would be the nightlife as there really isn't any. There were shows some of the nights, but after that, there isn't much. There's no disco, so if you're into that, it could be an issue, however, there is a place just down the beach that was rocking! I wish the main lobby area was a little larger too, as this is where people tend to gather at night for drinks, and seating is a little sparse. The staff at this resort is top notch, the food is excellent and the cleanliness can't be beat. I have no problem recommending this resort to anyone! I would go back in a heartbeat and will be back for sure! If things were not restricted right now, I'd already be there. **Covid info: So while we were there, the issues with Covid began. As I said, the resort was already extremely clean and hygienic. Once the issues with Covid began, the resort swung into action quickly. -They removed the "help yourself" water jugs at the beach bar and served water by request so people weren't touching everything. -Food at the buffet stopped being a touch everything and serve yourself: it was then put onto portion controlled plates, so you just picked up a plate and took that (you could take as many plates as you wanted). It stopped people from having to touch the same tongs etc. -Tables at the buffet were moved further apart. -Cleaning, although already incredible, was stepped up (even more frequent) All of these steps were implemented about half way through our stay - so at the beginning of Covid, before anything was ever mandated by anyone, anywhere. Iberostar was way ahead of the game and were very aware of their guests and their safety. Well done Iberostar! They had their guests best interests at heart when everything was still in a truly unknown phase. We left on the Friday. Staff were advised on the Wednesday that they would all be laid off a few days after we left as the world had pretty much announced that flights were being stopped. As crushing as that was for them, they still maintained their smiles and did everything they could to make our stay the best it could be. They were stellar! Thank you everyone! You are truly amazing and professional and we can't wait to see you all again!

3 times - Will go again

We have traveled to Iberostar Cozumel with our 2 teenage boys twice. Love it so much went with a group of families at Christmas. We like the smaller resort footprint. Our boys spend most of time at the volleyball court. We can see them from the pool and our stop on the beach. The staff, food, and nightly entertainment is always great. We have done Iberostar Lindo and it too was amazing. We just prefer the small crowds and more chilled setting in cozumel. The only suggestion we have is to add a place were adults can gather after dark for drinks, music, and dancing.

    Great service, food and location

Very good location for people who want to escape from crowds. Beach was great with plenty of space. We had beach view room and hammock on the veranda was great. The food was excellent, the buffet was varied, we went to all 3 a la cartes. The facilities and grounds were well kept, there were flamingos next to restaurant and peacocks. The main reason why the place was excellent was the staff. It was my first time in all-inclusive resort and I was surprised that the staff was walking around and asking if someone wants a drink. The bar in swimming pool is a must for us and we were not disappointed by the choice in the bar. The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that the room for couple had two beds instead of one. Because of that there was little room around the beds. The room wasn't as big as I expected and the unnecessary two beds took too much space.
