Hyatt going to waste
Avoid this property if you can. The hotel is dirty and common areas smelled foul, as if there was a rodent dead in vents. Kids wanted to go to pool, however it was disgustingly dirty and smelly. Breakfast is overpriced and the quality and variety is suboptimal. The staff was indifferent when we gave feedback with little intent shown to take any action. Just do not visit this property, the Hyatt name is just a misleading branding.

Avoid
The pool is in disgusting shape. The walls are so thin that we were kept up for much of the night by a person speaking on the phone at a perfectly respectable volume in the adjacent room. The staff was courteous, but the facility is in terrible condition.

Avoid at all costs
I can't think of a single positive thing to say about my recent two-night stay. To start, the front desk staff seemed annoyed that they had to put their cell phones down to check us in. The room was clean, but there were so many issues. The walls are paper-thin allowing you to hear EVERYTHING in the adjacent rooms. The windows don't block the outside noise either as traffic was clearly audible even on the 24th floor. The floor is vinyl not carpet, so everything is even louder than it should be. There were no extra pillows or towels in the room, and only four hangars in the clothes rack (there was no closet). The bed was soft, but the mattress was clearly beyond it's lifespan as I sunk into a huge divot as I slept. The bathroom was not without issue either. There was a bracket on the wall for a towel hook, but no hook. The shower floor pan was cracked, and the shower head was mostly clogged. Lastly, the on-site restaurant only serves buffet breakfast on Saturday, and the food was barely edible.

Hyatt - high floor with a view.
We usually get highest floor with a scenic view. Last night's stay, we actually got the same room as last time we stayed here (2301). Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Loved the soft king sized bed and chase lounge. Shower water was piping hot and roomy. Elevators were very fast coming and going. The staff was friendly, smiling. The only issue we seem to have ANYWHERE we stay is the maid service. Im not sure why all hotel maids feel the need to talk LOUD and bang into things early in the AM also walk in even if do not disturb tag is hanging on the handle. I don't think complaining to management is worth it, today's employees don't listen / don't care they know finding help is hard so they're pretty much in demand/control.

Great place to bring a group to Rochester!
We brought a group of 20 students from our university program and all were very pleased with our rooms. Great beds and pillows, lots of space in each room, front desk staff were patient with some last-minute needs we brought up. The location was near many of the places in Rochester that we wanted to visit.
