Old Hotel - Not a World of Hyatt standard
Our 1st trip as new parents attending a conference. Very disappointed with the level of service from this Hyatt. We expect basic attention to detail, efficiency and good customer service. Started with our late night check in, the gentleman was very inefficient, we eventually had to ask what comes with the doctors group booking, a map and location of services and we later realized once we attended Island Eyes welcome reception that he forgot to mention the free breakfast for my husband who was attending the conference. Upon arriving in our room #1724, we waited for the bell boy for our luggage over 30mins when it wasn’t busy as we arrived several days before attendees but after he delivered it, we tipped him $20 since we had lots of luggage. He didn’t give us any room info and he forgot to mention we had to fill our own water bottles/where to fill them and we had figure other things out about the room which was an inconvenience. The biggest disappointment is the room itself, it has 2 doubles making it impossible for our young crawling infant to play on the bed. Booking with our doctors group the Hyatt representative said our group would be in the newly renovated rooms but clearly that didn’t happen as our room is very outdated, the style and furniture reminds us for a seniors home and it is dusty and dirty despite cleaning everything our selves. We definitely won’t be giving our daughter a bath in the old bath tub. Needless to say this is not what we expect for the World of Hyatt. Upon settling into our room we realized there was NO CRIB, NO KETTLE which we requested months in advance. Waited over 1 1/2 for housekeeping to bring and b/c our daughter was falling asleep we ended up setting up our own portable crib. When they finally came the attendant was very loud and woke up our tired baby and the crib had awful stains and was dirty so we declined it. I called front desk and requested to move but wasn’t helpful and pretended they couldn’t hear me and hung up. Another huge headache was on Saturday dealing with Hertz. Had the car pick up reso at 10:30. Again no efficiency as we had to wait for a car seat, search for car, go back and ask for keys etc... no simple communication. Finally at 11:30 we installed broken, dirty car seat. Beware of high pressure sales tactics for adjacent Hyatt residence. As a world traveller, we definitely would not recommend the Hyatt Regency in Maui.
great stay in maui
we had a 5 nights stay in this resort, chosen on trip advisor basis. Car park is nearby, or a fee. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Our room was located in the side branch, quiet and with partial ocean view, facing one of the swimming pools. the room was large and clean, quite. We found on the bed an hawaian flower necklace as welcome gift. Nice, we'll never forget it. Breakfast is served by Son'Z restaurant, with wide range of choice. We didn't tried the swimming pools, too crowded, but a couple of times we had cocktails at their bars. It is worth of. Within few steps you have access to the beach. great! Staff all friendly, highly recommended
Excellent and Beautiful Resort in Maui
I did a review back in March. I just wanted to upload some pictures of the Ocean View Suite that I stayed in. I loved the room and really enjoyed my stay. The room was excellent and comfortable. The views were breathtaking! This is a very lovely resort in a nice section of Maui. The beach was very nice, not crowded at all. The staff was exceptional and the food in the club was very appetizing. I have some food allergies and the staff was very accommodating! I loved my stay and can’t wait to go back!
Our Magical Family Vacation at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa
Magical! That’s how our whole family (husband, 5 kids with ages ranging from 12 to 22 years old) describes our stay at Hyatt Regency Maui from May 28 to 31, 2019. The hotel staff were all so friendly and accommodating, making us all feel welcome. The rooms were also very comfortable. There’s so much to do just at the hotel itself (not to mention exploring the island of Maui), that four days’ stay is nowhere near enough! • At 9:30 in the morning, there was penguin feeding in the lobby. Penguins! In Hawaii! Such a sight to see • There is Honolulu Coffee shop within the hotel grounds, perfect for having my morning cuppa joe or afternoon picker-upper. One time, I had Kona coffee pour over, which was great! • A self -service coin laundry room, where our family washed some of our clothes • There are small shops – one is even Macy’s! – for some shopping therapy. • There are three, yes, three pools to choose from! The main pool is a big resort pool, with waterfalls and even a swim-up bar for adults. We had such fun swimming and playing in the different pools. • The hotel is ocean-front, so our family swam on the beach and went on strolls along the white sands • Drums of the Pacific Luau – authentic luau, complete with fire dances -- perfect for the last night in Maui To Hyatt Regency Maui, and to the whole of magical, entrancing Maui, we will go back again! (Apologies for the delay in writing out this review. After a busy 2019, we are now all staying at home due to the COVID-19 lockdown. Our prayers for everyone’s good health, safety and well-being, including the hotel staff and employees. We look forward to the time when we can all safely travel again and enjoy the hospitality of good hotels like this one.)
Wonderful, can’t wait to come back!
A beautiful resort with AMAZING pools and amenities. One of the nicest, most well kept resorts we’ve ever been to. Our room was in one of the recently updated towers and it was beautiful and so comfortable. Food options were great, walking distance to many shops/restaurants and a short drive to downtown Lahaina. Perfect location and the staff at the hotel were all friendly and wonderful. We had an excellent stay and can’t wait to be back in the future!
