Friendly City Welcome
My husband and stayed her for five nights at start of February to celebrate my 40th Birthday. The staff on the front reception were warm, bubbly and very helpful from the moment we arrived. The hotel is not very big, but has everything you need for a city break. Our room was at the front of the building and it was very clean and well equipped. The bed was honestly the most comfortable hotel bed I have slept on 10 out of 10.The shower was very roomy and constantly stocked up with supplies. We made good use of the breakfast which was a great saving and convenient, it was well stocked up and the staff continuously refilled everything. Coffee all day was also very useful. I was even surprised one night of my stay with a lovely treat for my birthday and the bedroom door colourfully decorated, it was a lovely touch. The location of this hotel is very good it is less than two minute walk from Grand Central where you can get a train or sub-way anywhere. However, we walked from this hotel across to Broadway and Times Square a number of times and it was an easy walk. Would definitely return and recommend to others.
Prime Spot for a Stay
The hotel is situated just 2 blocks away from the Grand Central Station. Easily walkable if you are not carrying a huge luggage. For close company you will have the Chrysler building, Permanent Mission of India, Avis car rental next door, couple of Starbucks a block away, a Dunkin Donut outlet across the street, The Westin NY Grand Central in the opposite lane and the UN Head Quarters at a walking distance of 15 mins tops. So, you can imagine, how prime the location can be. I am Hilton Honors member and my reason to select this property was obvious. For my Christmas and New Year vacation this was my 4th property of Hamptons where I stayed after Berlin, Chicago and Providence. I arrived at 3:00 PM and due to heavy rush the check-in was not permitted until 5:00 PM. The manager was apologetic to all and offered them hot beverages. As expected after check-in, I was not surprised at all- The rooms were extremely small- given that NYC is one of the most expensive cities to live in hence the real state is prime too. Free breakfast came as part of the Hampton Promise with every booking. As promised by the manager I was offered a late checkout as per my request which was extremely kind. Good things about the property: Location: Prime 5 Star Staff: Helpful and cordial 5 Star Sleep Quality: Peaceful 5 Star Cleanliness: Neat 4.8 Star Not so good thing about the Property: Breakfast: Passable 2.5 Star (No offense but that’s the case with the other 3 properties of Hampton I stayed in US as well – Chicago, Providence as well as Manhattan. Only surprise was Hampton by Hilton in Berlin City Centre where the Breakfast was just amazing – Probably because it was Europe) Allow me to Thank all the staff here who made my stay memorable.
Loved Our Stay
I live in Manhattan and my family needed a place to stay while our apartment was being renovated. We stayed here twice this month and both times we had an enjoyable experience. The hotel is in a very convenient location. It's about 5 blocks from Grand Central station. The staff is amazing and so friendly. The rooms are very clean and breakfast is good. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Work trip for 2 days.
The Hampton Inn Grand Central was close to where I was working. The room was very comfortable. I didn't spend much time in the room but it was quiet and I slept well. If your staying for longer than a couple days you may want to ask for a fridge in the room.
Traditional tourist hotel - quiet area
Traditional tourist hotel close to Central Station, so close that you can almost see the back of Central Station from the street in front of the hotel. 43rd St. is a quiet street, so if you need to breathe some fresh air, you can relax in the area in front of the hotel. The room: Our room was furnished with 2 king size beds, a dresser and closet. The furniture was large, dark, heavy and filled most of the room. It was a big minus that the bathroom door was a sliding door so the toilet could not be shut off. Not all electrical outlets worked. Breakfast Restaurant: Large selection that varied slightly from day to day. Not the wild luxury, but we were satisfied. Location: For us, it was convenient when we arrived by train to Central Station. If you are looking for a hotel room you only need to sleep in, then I would highly recommend the hotel.
