It’s an excellent place to visit, we lived our honeymoon and it was a dream, the dinner at the beach was a really nice experience, we hope to be there from our first anniversary to meet the new jojo,s bar
El Dorado Casitas is a beautiful resort. We enjoyed our 5-night stay and was impressed by the attentive staff. The grounds and facilities were immaculate and I mean CLEAN, really clean. We found the food to be very good but wouldn't call it "gourmet". We enjoyed dining at Funetes, Santa Fe, Health Bar, Spot and both D'Italias (Villas/Casitas) but wished we had skipped COCOTAL, La Cabana and Kampai. Service was definitely 5-stars throughout the resort.
El Dorado Royale Casitas- Pure Heaven
Spring break in 2019 was our third time at EDR, but the first staying in the Casitas section. This was a 50th birthday trip for my husband and I. The room was gorgeous, bed comfortable, and the outside shower was fun! We had our own little plunge pool right outside our room, but we loved the section 31 pool for meeting our neighbors and socializing. The food was delicious, as usual, including room service. The beach is just okay, but that is not our thing anyway. In the past, we went off site to snorkel. Nightly entertainment was great. Staff are so friendly, especially the bartenders. We always take a couple hundred in ones so we can tip easily for drinks and maid service. Highly recommend EDR Casitas! In fact, we have already booked to return for spring break in 2021.
This was our third time at El Dorado, and second time at the Casitas. We love it so much that we became members last year! We have a couple that we met there the first time we were there 4yrs ago and since have become some of our closest friends! The week started with our arrival with Lomas who picked us up from the airport, then to meet up with Franco and Fabio who brought us champagne and made sure everything in our room in Casitas 3200 was everything we dreamed it could be! The outdoor shower and swim out pool from our room on the main level are our favorite parts of the room which is so beautiful! Our butlers Manuel and Alexis were AMAZING! Anything we could ever need, they made sure that we had it from reservations for dinner, massage appointments to after dinner shots left in our room at the end of the night. We had Kat and Gabby last year as our butlers and they took care of us this time even though they didn't have to! In the mornings we would get coffee, fruit and fresh warm pastries delivered to our room, then sit on our little patio and take in the sunrise. We did have to go and put books on our chairs around the pool or on a Bali bed, but it wasn't a big deal. The 32 pool bar tenders were fantastic also! Not only did Luis, Eduardo, and Jonathan make sure we were taken care of at the pool and on the beach with drinks, they would bring us little sandwiches before lunch and get our ice cream orders after lunch and bring it to us! We felt SO spoiled always! they make sure we were Our favorite breakfast place is Santa Fe. They have amazing breakfast burritos, mimosas and we LOVE Jose who was our server there and at the restaurant at the 32 pool. HIs energy was so positive and fun! At lunch we would eat at the 32 pool and Vicki is the cook there. Everything that she cooks is absolutely out of this world! The Palms restaurant is wonderful for lunch also! It is right on the beautiful turquoise water and we would have Gjarmo as our server who was wonderful also! We went to the members dinner at El Fuentes with a dinner show and a wine pairing dinner with entertainment that followed dinner! The food, the wine pairing and our server Carlos were out of this world! We had dinner at many of the restaurants, but our favorite experience was with Silvario at Di Italia. The food there was OK, but he made our experience there wonderful! My Husband and I had two couples massages each. One indoor in the spa with Rosa and Samuel and one in the morning outside at the sky beds! listening to the waves and getting a massage in the morning before it got to busy outside was such a relaxing experience! The beach and the water were mesmorising. They do have breakers to stop the waves from coming in and destroying the beaches, but you get used to them and color of the water becomes the focus! I cannot rave more about the service, the food, the rooms and the people that make the whole experience so memorable and magical!
Perfect Resort for our Wedding
My husband and I decided to do a destination wedding, and after searching many resorts we decided upon El Dorado Royale Casitas for the big day. We coordinated our room block through Pamela Gramling from Destination Weddings and she was a rockstar. She was extremely attentive and helped all our guests book their accommodations without any hiccups. On to the resort - the staff here is TOP NOTCH. Our wedding coordinator was Paulina Ortiz and she was so incredibly helpful with every step of the planning! When we arrived, we met our day-of on-site wedding team who were also fantastic! Jazmin Mary and Dorit were so attentive to every detail, and the wedding day ran so smoothly due in large part to this fantastic staff. Our ceremony was at Gazebo 55 on the El Dorado Royale side of the resort. We moved the reception to another beach location at El Dorado Royale called Funetes Gazebo. We had 60 guests at our wedding and it was the perfect size. We had all the rooms in Enclave 25 at Casitas reserved for our group. We were all able to come to our private pool and bar area since we had all the rooms booked by our party. Guests that booked on the El Dorado Royale side of the resort could come to our pool as well. As for restaurants, our favorites were Kampai (Asian and Sushi), D'Italia Villas (Italian), as well as JoJos (more casual outdoor restaurant with Caribbean style food - the Shrimp Ceviche is a must). All in all this was a five star experience at a five star resort.
