Mesa Arizona visit
Good location - needs updates to carpet throughout the building. Elevators need to be updated. Overall quality needs to be reviewed. Lobby needs to have more setting for guests. Pool area did not have guest towels, only dirty ones left. Guest room beds were comfortable and staff was very friendly.
They do not care about your health or your enjoyment of your stay
Our group has been scheduling a 5-day intensive workshop that is held in this hotel's meeting room at the same time every year for the past several years. It is a known event at the hotel, and the scheduling doesn't vary, so WHY would management schedule the ceiling of the lobby to varnished at the beginning of the workshop when the meeting room is on the second floor, not 20 feet from the varnished ceiling?! All of the VOC fumes rose up the angled ceiling and right into the meeting room, where we got to breathe them in from 8am to 9pm every day! We all had headaches, and in my case, a bloody nose, nausea, and phlegm in my lungs. I complained, and management was unconcerned and unapologetic. Despite being told that a fan would be brought to air the room, no fan was brought, and the maintenance person didn't show up until the last day of the workshop (3 days after my complaint) to get the window in the meeting room unstuck so we could get some fresh air. Also, I had a problem with my room and called the front desk, and after putting me on hold for 15 minutes, I walked downstairs to find that they completely forgot about my call. I had to request maintenance 4 times to come to fix a problem in the room. No one came until I went down to the front desk and saw the maintenance person (who had not been informed there was a problem with my room) and I personally walked him to my room to show him the problem, about 6 hours after my initial call to the front desk. Again, no apologies were given. The hotel is under new ownership, and the new management is awful and doesn't seem to care at all about the health or enjoyment of their guests. Only the lobby has been renovated, and the rooms are next, so you can expect new paint and new carpet fumes for the foreseeable future, since the management won't allow doors to be opened to air out the place due to "security concerns regarding the transient population in the area". This used to be a nice place to stay, but I would avoid it given the fumes and the new management.
Great place to stay. Stayed multiple days in a row for Spring Training work. Place is quiet, clean, comfortable and the friendly staff makes you feel welcome. I don’t expect much out of a free breakfast other than cereal, milk, coffee, juice, fruit and yogurt. It’s all there so that’s good enough for me. If you want something more for free continue your search.
very nice place
Pros: friendly staff , well located (close to transport, restaurants and Walmart), good breakfast, nice pool to relax, good room size Cons: elevator in maintenance, slow internet at night, pillows were not that comfortable
Good with 2 exceptions
Shower leak and disruptive adjoining room for one night. Pillows could have been better. Breakfast was good. Satisfied with the overall stay. Front staff were nice and check-in and check-out were easy.
