    Poor Front Desk Service

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel at the beginning of the COVID-19 situation (March 12 - 16). While the hotel room itself was big and clean, and the concierge staff very helpful, the front desk staff were useless in: (a) providing me with a discounted rate promoted on its web-site (despite my speaking with three different staff members), and (b) providing me with computer access in order to confirm/change my flight home when the computers in their business centre were not working for a whole day. Despite the urgency of the situation of Canadians needing to fly home immediately, the hotel manager refused to give me access to one of the staff's computer to simply change my flight. Moreover, this hotel frequently hosts fraternities/sororities, so there was a lot of noise within the hotel hallways - despite COVID. On the positive side, it is well-situated at the corner of Canal and Bourbon Streets - so it is within walking distance of several very good restaurants and cafes.

    Best location

I had been to the Crowne in New Orleans before and when it came time to choose a hotel for March break I did not hesitate. The location is perfect, Bourbon Street is at the corner. There are a couple places to eat or buy beers for the room close by. The St. Charles street car is across the street. As for the hotel we have a double queen room facing Bourbon Street on the 8th floor. It was clean and everything worked as expected. The beds were comfortable. Only comment was the hot water was too hot, I can’t believe I am writing that! A nice feature is there is a balcony on the 2nd floor that over looks Bourbon Street. I imagine during Marti gras it is packed shoulder to shoulder! One feature I have to comment is the Concierge desk, we were in the good hands of Isabelle. She was so knowledgeable and friendly. A pleasure to meet! Sadly we traveled during the Covid 19 virus pandemic and had to cut our trip short. The hotel was quick to give us a refund on the days we did not stay. Very stress free discussion with the front desk. Over all great service. Would I go beak, yes next trip for sure!

    Worst mattress ever!

I just want to say that this is by far the lousiest, cheapest mattress I have had the displeasure of sleeping on and I was in the USMC and have slept in far worse locations than New Orleans. Do not stay here unless you are just looking for a place to drunkenly crash and don’t care a thing about comfort. The hotel seems clean and the staff was nice but holy hell the bed is terrible. Be ready to send them your physical therapy bill if you stay here.

Upon checking in our room was dirty, the bathtub had not been cleaned, the beds were horribly uncomfortable and noisy to just turn over. In a room with double beds no one sleeps in that case. The hotel really needs a good cleaning

    Crowne Plaza - New Orleans

From the time of check-in (John was very helpful and guided me to a nearby self-park garage) to checkout, the property was excellent. Everyone was friendly, the hotel and room was very clean, beds and pillows were comfortable, and the location was convenient for walking all of the French Quarter. It is within one or two blocks from a few different trolley stops, too. Definitely would stay here again!
