A week in punta cana at Cataloina La Romana
The resort offered a lot of variety lunch and dinner options. Lots to do at the resort and shows were good too. We stayed at the adults only. But shared amenities with the family resort and they offered great activities for them too. Amaury and Miguel was very nice and took care of us!

Pretty property, poor food/drinks
There were many nice things about this hotel, but it didn't feel very convenient or inclusive. There were too many limitations on food options/items/hours, and the quality of food and drinks was much lower than we expected. Had their website been more transparent and showed menu items before we booked, that could have influenced our decision, or at least helped us manage expectations. All the drinks at the bar were massively sugary, and they barely had any vegetarian options (and nearly zero vegan options) at all restaurants. The coffee was disappointingly bad, and they wouldn't allow us to order food at the pool or the beach. You could order drinks, but no food. For food. you'd have to leave the area and dine inside a restaurant. A lot of food items were not fresh or served warm. Other than that, the property was pretty and we I'm sure it's the right place for some people, it just wasn't for us.

Loved it!
Very nice place. I like how you can access all the amenities of Catalonia Bayhibe, which are more extensive, but also retreat to adults only La Romana if you want. I think this is a good bang for your buck. Beautiful beach, great pools, great service (shout out Angel and Andres who were great)

Nice resort
This resort is very modern ,clean & safe , the staff is very friendly and the beach is beautiful! We spent a week and favorite restaurants were the Italian and the Mediterranean one above the lobby especially for breakfast , we do not go on vacation for the food so we were satisfied with a couple of the restaurants that we made repeat visits to. Our room was a swim up, if you can upgrade I recommend it and the room was very modern & clean but you will need conditioner , the resort does not provide any. We walked around to the family side a couple times ,very pretty grounds - buffet was so so and the steakhouse was terrible, worst restaurant on the property, thank god for all you can eat Pizza at the Italian restaurant, that saved us a couple times. Beloved near the beach was very good also for breakfast. They had nightly entertainment around the pool and the group that put on the shows were very entertaining , disco, technetronic & music through the years, the silent dance party was so fun , we laughed so hard! We did a half day tour to Saona island and it was gorgeous and the crew was a lot of fun and they provided drone images from the natural pool which were stunning , LeeLee at the dive shop was very helpful . The beach bar had a couple very nice friendly staff members which provided us constantly with our "Dominican water " (beer with ice) , Mary was a sweetheart all day everyday and Luis bringing us a beer on his head was fun too ! One person stood out as a real Gem and that was Mariolis at the pool bar, always friendly, smiling and helpful, she makes the BEST espresso martinis and we enjoyed her personality all day long . I would definitely recommend this resort .

Well maintained,beautiful,pleasant paradise
Such a pleasant experience at this place. The check in was smooth like butter with pleasant atmosphere of the lobby & a welcome drink. Beach is well maintained ,clean & well equipped with straw beach umbrellas unlike other resorts I've stayed in the nearby location over the years. Multiple employees brought drinks, fruits to the beach during the day. Food at the buffet was great with many healthy, tasty, high quality foods & the a la carte restaurants were excellent, specially Beloved& Tuscania. Employees were by far the best I've experienced in this area from my 12years of visiting this area. A shout out to an excellent barista, Luis Alfredo at the main lobby cafe/bar, he was the best in the entire property. Every corner was so clean & well maintained, well thought out for the comfort of the guests. Location of the cafes, restaurants, bath rooms, etc were very well planned for the comfort of the guests. The only very minor issue was the showers on the beach which was limited to 2 locations unless I've overlooked. The employees were warm, yet courteous & accommodating. We didn't even have to shlep beach towels to change, they were changed by cleaning ladies from our room daily, no need to bring old ones to the specific location daily in the heat. Peaceful without noisy music blasting all day on the beach which is the reason why we chose not to go back to other resorts nearby in the area, yet had enough entertainment to keep certain people who want them occupied. it felt as if even the guests were on higher level in their public manner than others I've encountered at other resorts nearby. Already planning for next visit.
