    Great location!

Very comfortable bedding. Staff was warm and welcoming. Location is great, close to many touristy targets such as an excellent French bakery, The amazing Majestic Theater, The Alamo and the Riverwalk. Rooms are small but purposeful and it is a historic building so the windows are thin. Overall we enjoyed this place and would definitely consider it on our next visit.

Good location, no reserved parking, slow checkin, TV guide unusable, minor room mechanical issues.

Good location. Two blocks to Alamo, four blocks to Riverwalk. Very walkable. It is impossible to reserve a parking space even when you pay for parking for your full stay. If you leave the lot there may not be a space for you when you get back. There needs to be a reserved parking spot available when you return but there isn't now. Apparently the hotel does not own the lot. Slow checkin process. The front desk manager seemed poorly trained or inadequate at his job at check-in; it took way too long (15 minutes) for just two customers in front of me. TV Guide unusable, needs fixed. The Spectrum TV guide on TV Channel 1 showed channel numbers such as 36-3 but the TV channels did not align with it at all, so it was impossible to directly know where to find a show that we wanted to watch in the late evenings and early mornings. I asked the Front Desk Manager for a sheet of paper to give cross-referencing and his response was that he had no idea whether there was one. The rest of the staff was fine; the women cleaning rooms nearby gave us towels when we needed them. Minor: The bathroom shower door would not close without extreme force because it is misaligned. The toilet seat broke in half. The bathroom barn door would not slide unless you pulled out on it from the outside or pushed out on it from the inside.

Barn door bathroom gives you no privacy.

The bathroom door is a barn door and just slides over the doorway. There's no privacy. You can hear everything the other person is doing in the bathroom. There might as well just be a curtain covering the door. We will not be staying here again unless they change the doors. I called down to the front desk and they said almost all rooms have these doors and couldn't change rooms because they were full. (But I did look at expedia and it showed open rooms for the time we were there.) If you do decide to stay here: The room and bathroom were really clean, parking was $40 for in/out a day, breakfast from the Indian restaurant was $10 each. We didn't have breakfast so I'm not sure if it was good or not.

Skip this hotel if your going to the Riverwalk

This hotel charges 40.00 for parking. They had no hot water when we were there. We couldn't use the pool because water was green and had cleaning stuff floating on the water. The breakfast was alright but if your not a member you have to pay for the breakfast, plus the person working the breakfast didn't understand English. The rooms are small and the elevator is very small. We are sorry we stayed there.

This hotel is within walking distance of the Alamo and the River Walk. Friendly staff, and nice amenities.
