Nice hotel with lovely rooms and good food
Our first impressions of this hotel were good. When we got to our room it was very spacious and well equipped - four poster bed, couch and table, ironing board and iron, safe, plenty of coat hangers, hair dryer, mini bar, shampoo and body wash in the shower. The buffet at lunch was lovely with a good choice. We spent our days at the quiet pool and we could always get loungers with a parasol (without having to get up at the crack of dawn). There is only a swim up bar at this pool which made it awkward to get a drink when the poolside service wasn't great, that was until a lovely girl called Yuleysi took over. She was always around the pool asking if she could get anyone a drink - a real credit to the hotel. The surrounding gardens of the hotel were lovely and my wife loved going for a walk to admire the various trees, plants, flowers etc. The food in the Don Pablo & the Rodizio A La Carte Restaurants were both lovely. The entertainment was ok but low key. The silent disco was not really well organised, it took a long time to get going with only two dj's and was finished too soon. We did have a problem with a bill on our account for premium drinks that someone else had, but used our room number. It took days and several requests before it got sorted. Our main criticism was that most of the staff just didn't seem friendly, interested or able to understand English. The very first drink we asked for while waiting for our room was a Diet Coke (hardly unusual) - we got a fizzy green drink instead?? We knew we were in trouble from the start and needless to say we got other wrong drinks during our stay.

Nice relaxing vacation in Dominican
easy flight to La Romana Airport, quick processing, short drive to the resort from there. Staff were great, Ruben at the lobby bar, Pedro at the breakfast buffet, and Marienne at the poolside bar were all great as was the staff at the specialty restaurants. Food was very good, pools were nice, room was nice, overall a very nice trip and resort.

NOT A BEACH RESORT....DONT BE FOOLED
The hotel, service and staff were excellent. The big disappointment and misrepresentation is the Beach. This beach is un usable. The water is murky, not clear I would say dirty, and because it is a bay is frequently un-swimmable. The beach itself and the grounds are clean and quite nice, but they do not tell you on the tour companies or their own website that the actual beach is a total fraud!!!!! If you are looking for a Beach vacation this is "NOT THE PLACE TO GO"

Hotel was great but the restaurants food was very disappointing. The only one we enjoyed was the Japanese.
We went to the Italian, Mediterranean, Brazilian Ridizio Carolas, and the Oriental. and were very disappointed in the quality of the food and the selection of all except the Oriental. The buffet was ok for breakfast but no so much for the lunch and dinner.

Sun, sand , great food and golf what more do you need.
We have visited the Luxury Bouganville this year being our 5th time. The place is predictably beautiful and the maintenance level of the resort is second to none. The staff are amazing never seem to tire at there posts. We travel with friends and probably if the lord is willing we will return next year to once again visit the Bahia Principe Luxury Bouganville property. Until next year, Thanks Dan & Tammy
