Jul 11, 2025Disappointing for Marriott
While the resort was nice and the room was large enough, everything else was annoying. No toiletries, requests were half met, we had to beg for toilet paper and when they wouldn't give us any, my husband found a maid cart and grabbed some. The food was mediocre to bad. The staff was hit or miss. The diamond club over rated, the butler service was a joke, saw him once and never had answers. Don't be fooled by the concierge in the diamond club halls. They are time share sales trying to get you in a presentation, we did go and found ourselves calling the prime membership sales manager an arrogant di**. The only 2 people that were pleasant, were the ladies in the diamond club lounge. The diamond club pool was nice until the late afternoon, they let anyone go in and party... it was loud and saw people drunk and arguing. So with that said, if you're there to party get drunk and not care, this is the place for you. If you're with a family and want an easy vacation, beware

We loved everything! Everyone was so nice to us very excellent service. We definitely will be back! Ryan our butler was amazing and Bladimier was the nicest to get us anything we needed at the pool or beach. Carlos invited us to take a tour to join the rewards program and we excepted we loved it so much.

Second Royalton stay and would return to the DR! Book the Diamond Club at this one to have a great experience.
We are a family for four and had a wonderful and relaxing stay here with Diamond Club. Don’t let the bad reviews scare you off. We stayed at the Royalton Splash Cancun last year (not diamond club) and wanted to give this location a try. After reading reviews we decided to book DC and I agree it is worth it with the perks of the location to beach and breakfast buffet, special pool, FlowRider, Splash Park, butler service for reservations and discount at spa. Our butler Max was wonderful and helped with all our dinner reservations. Ricardo at the DC bar was awesome too. We had great meals at the Italian, Asian, and Brazilian restaurants. Hunter Steakhouse was a bit off the night we went but we never waited and our reservations were at 6:30 or 7 PM. This property is very long so be ready to walk to entertainment. The DC area is next to the beach so we stayed down this way most of the time. DC gets a special breakfast buffet next to the beach so it’s a perk not having to walk all the way to the front of the resort. The entertainment was good and the fire show was excellent. We never saw any teens in the teens club area. I was worried about the reviews about bugs but our room was very clean and we only saw one roach in the outdoor common area all week. Being from the southeastern US, this was totally normal and not concerning for us. Bottom line, we had a great time and would go back.

Perfect stay
Absolutely perfect stay. Food and hotel were amazing. Would like to thank Guillermina around the pool for being amazing! She couldn’t have done enough for us.

Great hotel
Great hotel, great staff and great weather. Food was good. Restaurants top class, our favourites were Rio and Hunter Steakhouse. Best waitress in the world - Guillermina at the pool. Would recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. Book a swim up room as well!
