Fun and relaxing!
Had a great trip at hideaway! The offered the chance to start the day with yoga or Pilates. A lot of options for food. You have to reserve the place you would like to eat the night before. A lot of pool fun they even bring activities to do in at the the pool. So much fun playing games with JP PAPI everyday at the pool! He was very friendly. The vibe team brought energy and smiles daily!

Disappointing stay
We recently returned from a week long stay. Our group had 13 people, not all stayed the entire week. Our family was me, my husband, and our 9yo son. Although we made the best of our trip, I would not return to this resort or recommend it to others. The good: Check in was easy and fast in the diamond club lounge. My son enjoyed grabbing dessert in the lounge during our stay. Francisco in the buffet was awesome, ensuring we had full coffee and water cups. The women at the coffee shop were so kind, even with our tricky coffee orders. The staff were very kind and helpful, trying to do the best the can. We did tip frequently and generously, and I think that really helped our service experience. We were happy to do so to help out the staff who were working so hard. The water park was a lot of fun. We went four times! It was only a short walk from the resort. The desserts were very good. We stayed in a swim out one bedroom presidential suite. It was simple, but spacious. The swim out feature was cool. The bad: The sales pitches and trying to trick us into attending a presentation. After saying no to "finding the concierge to get our welcome package", which was to be invited to a time share presentation, and save on a cabana, it seemed like they were in shock. It was a little insulting. We're not on vacation to sit through a sales pitch. Having a butler was more of a hassle than a help, insisting on booking us with our group, which required us to find room numbers and figure out plans with the whole group, instead of listening to us when we insisted it was not necessary. It would have been easier to just go to the buffet instead of coordinating through whats app. Although I believe he was just doing his job, it just didn't help us. Reservations were a mess, and the food wasn't worth the hassle, especially with a group. It felt like there was some weird competition between waiters and butlers to get you a reservation. Even though it's so hard to get a reservation, the restaurants weren't that full when we went. I don't understand why all these games are necessary to get a reservation and who wants to have vacation so scheduled? It's such an unnecessary headache for mediocre food. The exact opposite of what you want for a relaxing vacation. There was a cockroach in our room one night. The AC seemed to turn off overnight, many members of our group also woke up very hot in the middle of the night. Food was just ok. Limited options were available for lunch unless you went to the buffet, which required changing out of swim wear. Food around the pool was limited to burgers and hot dogs, and a few more options for diamond club. No healthy options available outside of the buffet for lunch. A few members of our group got sick during our week. The activities weren't well advertised and we missed one, the inflatable by the pool, only saw it when it was coming down. We were really disappointed as it looked really fun. Room service was 45 minutes late for a scheduled breakfast. We prepared for this possibility, but it was still annoying and delayed our day. The Mexican restaurant flooded during our dinner, including a leaky ceiling. The beach was not set up in the way I would expect at a resort. A cliff of sand leading to the ocean, tons of seaweed (I understand this isn't their fault as it's a bad season), and chairs jammed together hidden behind paid cabanas on the diamond club side obstructing any ocean view. Barely anybody was on the beach during our stay. If the beach is your priority, this isn't the resort for you. We did raise some of these issues via the app during our stay, but we were instructed to go to guest services. Not wanting to waste our vacation, we decided not to pursue further.

Super Family Fun
Family vacation with adult children and grandchild. The layout of the hotel was great. Most of the restaurants were close. We had one of the older rooms. It was clean but definitely one of the first rooms they built!!! They have guest service representatives at the entrance of the building. We had Frankelly & Yabelka ( may have spelt them wrong). If you have good ones like we did, they can possibly help you get a reservation at a restaurant.. trying to get the reservations at the restaurant was the worst part. You have to download the Royalton app and the reservation for restaurants doesn’t open till 5 and by 5 15. Every restaurant was booked???. Thankfully the food at the buffet was very good. And it was our five year-old grandson‘s favorite place to eat.Things to know: The buildings are three stories, we were in building one and one of our sons was in building four, there are no elevators. The pool is a good size and walk in which is great for little kids and grandma’s.! I’m not sure what they call the sun coverage they have but it works really well. Instead of having two chairs with an umbrella between them.. The beach is very clean when we were there. The waves were just right, not overwhelming.. we didn’t do it, but I would recommend a room with a butler, I’m pretty sure they’re the ones that get the restaurant reservations. They do have a tram to go to the waterpark and the restaurants that are further away..

DO NOT BOOK
where to start ... I have been to punta cana many times and this is by far the worse resort you can book. We booked through sunwing for a wedding we were attending and paid for diamond club. Complete waste of money . None of the promised upgrades occurred, we had issues with booking things, our room had no fan and lights flickered... then stopped working . We were told we had to move rooms at 2:30 am. There was mold in the rooms and everyone returned home sick.We had so many issues at this resort , put in many reports to management, and then when we complained to sunwing... all records of any events were gone and resort claimed nothing happened! We were offered by the resort when we were there an "upgraded dinner " if we signed an NDA , but we said no, since we want other people to not experience what we had to experience. Please do not book this resort and waste your money, so many other vacationers were at the resort with us regretting booking there too. It became a joke when speaking with people there , sharing how bad their room and experience has been.
