Lovely hotel, excellent value for money
Having previously stayed at the deluxe Disney resorts, Wilderness Lodge and Beach Club, I was extremely pleasantly surprised by how wonderful Port Orleans Riverside is, given it is one of the “moderate” resorts. I had a lovely, immaculately clean room in building 80 Magnolia Bend. It wasn’t one of the recently updated ones but was still very beautifully appointed, comfortable and quiet. The thing I loved best about the hotel is the atmosphere. It is all based around the beautiful river which runs through it and really does have a New Orleans bayou vibe to it. It has a Wilderness Lodge feel to it as it is very “one with nature”. Unless you have a car I would definitely request a room close to reception as some of the buildings are a good 5-10 minute walk away. The boat to Disney Springs is a lovely and useful perk. The buses to the parks were frequent and fast. I would suggest getting on at the west or north bus stops at busy times of the day, to make sure the bus isn’t full when it gets to you. All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel for a Disney holiday. I think it’s fantastic value for money and we will 100% be returning.

Fun girls trip!
We booked the princess room or something like that. The details in the room are amazing! We oohed and ached at the intricacies of the room. Bus service was helpful and waits were short. Bar service was decent. Never ate at the hotel. While we were there mid March, it never felt crowded or uncomfortable. I would come back.

Excellent
Gorgeous! Smells beautiful, looks beautiful. We had a great time. Smells and looks clean in room and in main lobby. We ate in the food court most days, have no complaints at all. All staff we encountered were friendly and happy to help. Buses can be busy and full, we did use Minnie van a few times as a treat! We would stay here again! We were in alligator bayou building 16.

Beautiful, relaxed, and very Louisiana feeling
I've stayed in several different resorts at Disney- from value to deluxe. I think this is a moderate or value resort- I forget. Other than the esthetics, I really didn't find it to be worth the extra dollars than the All Star resorts. We stayed in room 1624 in the alligator section of the resort. I guess the food choices were better, but we usually arent at the resorts during meal times. I took away a star because the signs were confusing and often covered with trees or bushes. It seemed that we got picked up by bus at one place and dropped off at another bus stop. I could be wrong, but it was confusing. I loved the Murphy bed! We didn't use it but it would've been perfect if my son would've come along with us. It was just me, my daughter and her friend so it was perfect with the 2 queens but its nice to know there was another bed if needed. Our flight was delayed so they didn't allow us to have a late check out at 1pm instead of 11am. The boat/ferry is a cute touch, but I recommend using it only if you're not in a hurry. They will wait to see if more are coming on at each stop- which is awesome but not if you're in a rush. Its a very relaxed form of transportation so just be aware. We used the Disney app and never had to check in at the lobby. We used our phones and magic bands to get in and out. It was so nice. We chose to use an Uber (it may have been lyft- i can't remember) with Rita from the airport. She was amazing. She charged $60. I paid her more because our flight was delayed and she was kind enough to wait for us for over an hour! She took us back to the airport as well. This isn't the fault of this particular resort, but the buses are nuts at times. We were often packed in like sardines. It was so gross. I definitely need to research this for the future because it would be too much for people with little ones and needing to stand. Overall it was a great, relaxed, feel to it. We had a pool area right outside our room but never went over to it.

Beautiful resort
We spent 9 nights here at the end of april/may and loved our stay. It was our first time on disney property in about 17 visits to Orlando. Here is a summary- Pros- Stunning grounds. The buildings that house the rooms look amazing, like huge mansions and walking around the resort with all the birds and other wildlife was one of our favourite things to do, especially in the morning. Walking to the French quarter was also beautiful. So picturesque. Boat to disney springs is a great bonus and it's a relaxing 15/20 min trip. We never had to wait long to get on but I'm sure at busier times like early evening, there might be more of a wait Rooms were clean, spacious but depending where you are located it might be a bit of a walk to the main area. Cons - The air con unit was super loud. We don't mind some noise at night, we usually have a fan on at home, but this was another level! It may differ in each room though. The bath towels were tiny, more like hand towels but there was loads of them Food choice wasn't great, we didn't eat much there. There is a restaurant and a food court but the choice just seemed limited. They did nice sandwiches though but it looked like there was just the one filling. Pools - we didn't spend much time at all by the pool but the main one was too busy and noisy for me. There are some quieter pools around the resort but there isn't even any music there so there is very little atmosphere. The choice of coffee was also poor joffreys isn't great, a Starbucks area or machine would be a great addition. Overall, the pros more than outweigh the cons and we would love to come back next year. It does cost a lot more to stay at Disney but for us it was worth every penny. The staff, the theming, beautiful surroundings and location to disney springs all made for a really nice holiday.
