Worst experience of my life
TUI put my friend and I in this hotel because our flight was cancelled. It was the worst experience of my life in a hotel. Dirty, outdated, bad facility, food is inedible and drinks are disgusting. We could not wait to leave. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Needs updating and working elevators. Forget having a view, stay on 1st or 2nd floor.
POV: 40+ female, well traveled. I don't usually leave comments but whatever you read about this property being sub-standard is 100% TRUE! I checked reviews before arriving, had low expectations and it was just that, some days worse than that. Things I wish I had during my 5 night stay: working elevators; bonus would be one that indicated what direction you were heaing and what floor it was on [don't get a room on 6th floor - you've been warned], more light inside the buildings (some areas were really dim so dark tiled floors plus numerous puddles equal constant fall risk), condiments that were not watered down (the liquid ketchup and bbq sauce was a struggle), better quality food (unable to eat what they said was 'steak' and the chicken tenders from another post aren't good anymore), no sand/dirt on the room floor which was just "cleaned" and assigned to me, upfront pricing in the Oasis app for the few restaurants & buffets that had slightly better fare (pyramid level), less surf (not sure if it's a function of hotel location or time of year, but be careful) Things that were good: location (close to airport, good restaurants and several shopping areas), pool area & landscaping (well maintained, unlike the interior), concierge (go see Sylvester, he'll guide you to a great tour which might get your mind off the sketchy accommodation for several hours) Do your research, read recent comments (good & bad) and manage your expectations. #safetravels

The blue bracelet experience
Okay, so this is not a great resort but it is not “terrible” as many others claim. But I really don’t understand why the Grand Oasis make even a minimal effort to make things better. Our room: bottom floor Grand Oasis building 2 facing the center: A reasonably sized room minimally furnished. No comfy chair to sit in. No chest of drawers to unpack our clothes. The curtains don’t close fully. The. Porch furniture never cleaned (bird poop). No cover so the porch is in the sun all day. The toilet plumbing makes a loud noise when refilling. There is no clock. The shower drips. The bed is very comfortable and the decor is nice. There is daily made service and the room is very clean. Our air conditioning worked great. The grounds: Really quite attractive but once again minimal. Even at 50% occupancy there is little shade to be found. A few palapa son the beach and some palm trees but not a single umbrella. There is lots of live music, some very good others annoying . But if you came to relax, forget. The incredibly loud music will keep you awake until it stops at 11:00 pm. The peacocks and the white ibis are pretty cool. The food: mostly average. Somewhat below what you would expect from a typical family restaurant. Just don’t expect to find any seafood. No shrimp, calamari, scallops or octopus anywhere. The Tanisha buffet is basically a dozen ways to cook chicken and a few more choices. It was okay but not any meal to look forward to. Same with the house wines; not really bad just average with few selections. The beer available is dos eckes light (XX) at the restaurant. But they did stock my room fridge with my favorite, Bohemian beer. The Bahia Steakhouse is a bit better. But Maki Taco is pretty bad. We came to Grand Oasis through Monster Vacations so the sales presentation was mandatory. The two hour presentation lasted 4 1/2 hours. I can summarize it as follows: yes we know you aren’t treated well as a guest but we promise to do better if you pay to become a member. No thanks! This resort isn’t terrible it just has way too many minor flaws. Keep in mind we are a 71 year old couple looking for a relaxing upscale vacation. That’s not what the Grand Oasis is. It is really a place for a younger crowd on a budget who like loud music and doesn’t seek shade. The beach is fantastic. The employees are friendly and helpful.
