Time to find another Resort Brand!

We have been to many Breathless resorts and it seems that now that Hyatt took over things have gone down the hill. I think we need to find another party resort. We came to Breathless Soul to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Positive:The staff is amazing. Friendly, outgoing. The rooms are modern and tech with Bose speaker in room and lots of light switches. The food is great too. The beach water is clear and nice. Negatives: the entertainment is non existent. The entertainment pool was lack luster and no themes. We got kicked out at 4pm for a private party. The Kibbeh restaurant has closed and become the French restaurant with what seems like combined menu, the outside sign has not changed and no one tells you until you go to eat there. The night entertainment is ok but low budget and not like other Breathless parties. The gym is small for being a brand new hotel. It has weights, cardio but could have more machines there is room. Other Breathless’s have better gyms. No shots allowed near the pool. No food allowed near the pool. 2 drink max per person at one time, I tried to bring drinks for friends in the pool. It seems that there are rules added daily. For the money we paid, it’s really disappointing to what it used to be and now.

5 stars for Breathless Cancun! Beautiful location, energetic staff, clean rooms, breathtaking views, & great food&drinks

This was my first time going to any all inclusive resort so I have nothing to compare it to but I had an amazing time at this resort! The staff was incredible and the location was beautiful. I would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to this area.

Beautiful resort, not a true all inclusive

I’ve stayed at many all-inclusive resorts, both as a member and non-member, and this was by far one of the most disappointing experiences. I booked this resort for a 40th birthday celebration as a high-tier Hyatt member and paid for an Xhale Club upgrade. Despite the membership and upgrade, I’m still unsure what actual benefits came with either, aside from access to a quiet rooftop pool with “premium” drinks and a dedicated lounge—both of which failed to impress. As an Iberostar Club member, I’m used to receiving substantial perks—daily couples massages included. By comparison, this resort offered very little. Though it’s marketed as an adults-only destination, it felt more like a spring break hub. The crowd skewed heavily toward the 18–21 age group. While there’s nothing inherently wrong with that, it certainly didn’t foster a relaxing, adult atmosphere. Programming was nearly nonexistent. On our first day, we were kicked out of the “party pool” early due to a wedding. We moved to another pool, only to be told we couldn’t sit in certain areas—again, because of a wedding. As for the drinks: extremely disappointing. I requested El Jimador, only to watch bartenders at multiple bars pour bottom-shelf liquor instead. I even witnessed bottles being combined—raising serious concerns about watered-down and “married” liquor. I wasn’t trying to get drunk, but it became clear that even if I tried, it wouldn’t have been possible here. The only time I had a proper drink was in the Xhale lounge. Food was another letdown. While the dishes appeared well-prepared, everything was overly salted to the point of being inedible—and I suspect this contributed to some of the digestive issues I experienced during the trip. Another surprise: the resort doesn’t take restaurant reservations. You either show up when they open or wait 30 minutes to over an hour. And if you want a hibachi dinner, be prepared to pay an extra $55. That’s where my patience started to wear thin. It’s an all-inclusive resort in name only. Anything worth enjoying comes with an extra charge—hibachi, poolside cabanas ($500), a quiet area, or anything better than house liquor. To make matters worse, every room seems to face the noisy courtyard, which hosts weddings, karaoke, and loud parties late into the night. Don’t expect to read, rest, or sleep before midnight—sometimes later. There’s simply no way to escape the noise. The one bright spot? The staff. They were kind and professional and likely doing the best they could under the circumstances. But the overall experience was nowhere near what I expect from an all-inclusive resort. Normally, I can relax without spending money beyond tipping. That was not the case here. I wouldn’t return, but if you’re young—or have the energy and tolerance of someone who is—this place might be for you.

    Happily Surprised!

Have been to Cancun in the past but always thought of it (and experienced it) as a 20's party crowd place without much level of "sophistication". We were invited to this resort as part of a group for a 50th birthday party and honestly, we loved it and would go back. The Xhale rooms are amazing: ocean front was truly ocean front, hot tub on the deck was so nice at night, beds and pillows were super comfortable, open minibar in room always restocked, center of the room glass enclosed rain shower great. Drinks at the bars were good, water and ice were safe to drink, sushi was particularly good at Silk City, spa massage was very, very good. Restaurant food was average but at an all inclusive, it was expected to not be 5 star quality. There were 3 choices of pools so if you wanted to be with a party dance crowd, you surely could but you could also find a quieter pool scene to relax. Adult only resort so despite having kids myself, I enjoyed the lack of kids/teens. Security is very high and the front entrance has massive gates that don't open unless security clears; you are checked and rechecked and rechecked again on arrival and departure. Overall, we have zero complaints and had a great time! The upgraded Xhale rooms were definitely worth it - recommend booking them if you can!

Very good, but has room for improvement

Great resort, and we liked the ambience (think Cosmo in Vegas). Food was better than expected for an all-inclusive (all sit-down restaurants were very good; the only disappointment for food quality was next to the pools). We had an upper-level ocean-front Xhale room. The bed was great, and the shower was fun and sexy, being in the middle of the room. As far as Xhale, I did not see much perks in this upgrade at this resort, so doing it again, I might save that money. Pools are great. The Xhale pool (at the top of the tall tower) is small and quiet - not our jam, so we did not spend much time there. The party pool is a blast on the weekend, but it isn't that fun during the weekdays (it seemed like they were trying too hard with loud music but no entertainment and the crowd was small). The pool next to the beach was the most fun during the weekdays, and had the best crowd of fun people. We really enjoyed the property, service, and food. You will too, but Cabo Breathless is still our favorite Breathless resort.
