There were some headaches but lots of relaxation.
For the most part, we had an overall great time at Secrets Bahia Mita. There were a few things that didn't go right for us and some that were truly amazing. Check-In: The Good- Great hospitality team as soon as you arrive on property. We had Preferred Club access and had our own check in area. Another great experience. We had a few questions at check-in that our check-in representative could not answer but did direct us where to get the answers. We were told we would have a butler and gave us their name. We did not meet the butler nor were given their contact information to reach them if needed. However, once we were done with the check-in process another representative approach us and began walking us out of the check-in area and gave us some information on the hotel. At this time we assumed that he would be our butler. He did speak rather fast paced English that some parts of the conversation were hard to understand. But we felt that the information we really needed to know (i.e. elevators location and information that not all elevators lead to all the floors or how to work the ac unit) was not shared. He walked us to our room and we realized that he was an agent with the "Unlimited Preferred Club" and was trying to market us to attend a promotional meeting for more discounts. When I asked if there was a property map, he instructed me to download the property app to find the map. FYI - the app does have a map that does not clearly identify how to access the restaurant or what floor it is on. Private Romantic Dinner - This started bad, really bad. When we arrived at our dinner spot, I quickly realized that it was not going to be a private romantic dinner at all and the setup and location did not look like the images they advertise on the website. While we were seating by ourselves, we where seated near the pathway for guest to use to access the beach and the water rinsing area. We were only a few feet from guests walking up and down, there were kids running and yelling, folks enjoying their holiday, washing their feet and rinsing their dog out while we were attempting to enjoy our starters and champagne. This is not my idea of a private or romantic dinner experience and we weren't in the area provided as advertised. We were anticipating bad thunderstorms and I inquired as to what the plan would be incase of bad weather. We were told that they could move us to an inside location. And here is what took place next, Sarahi, the manager for our evening and her team, swiftly started ensuring that the inside location would actually provide the "private" and "romantic" dinner we were expecting. We were extremely grateful to her and her team for responding quickly and making it a beautiful evening for my spouse and I. Our meal experience was elevated with Gabino and we were able to meet the chef. Hands down, this was an amazing way to end our holiday. Spa Services - GREAT Staff. Do yourself a favor and book yourself for a spa. Just give yourself enough time to complete the Hydrotherapy circuit and then to get ready for your spa treatment.

Great time at Secrets Bahia Mita the second time around!
We stayed at Secrets Bahia Mita in May 2024 and enjoyed it so much that we booked a return vacation for 2025 before we left in 2024. Cecilia was our butler in 2024, and we asked for her when we arrived in June this year, but she got promoted and was unable to be our butler for this trip. We were assigned Ines Mejia as our butler who took excellent care of us during our trip. She was very attentive and sought us out at various locations throughout the week. She genuinely cared about us and checked in with us even on her day off. Ines drove us to the Dreams side where we visited the area where fresh fruits and vegetables are grown. Ines asked the guy in charge of the garden to walk with us and explain all the different trees, fruits, vegetables etc. It was as if we had a private tour and that was excellent for me as I am a serious foodie. Oscar Garcia was our UVC representative, and he was great, he contacted us before our arrival to see if we had any special requests and was instrumental in helping us to get up upgraded to the Ocean View suite that had a huge balcony with plunge pool. We are UVC Impression members and were very happy to get the automatic upgrade. When we arrived at the hotel, we immediately went to Olio for lunch and the waiter recognized us from our 2024 trip and greeted us with “Welcome Home”. Luis who manages Olio came over and greeted us with “Welcome Home” and remembered that I like my ceviche made a certain way. He said he would get the chef to make my ceviche just the way I liked. The chef made my ceviche for 3 more days during my trip. Luis took great care of us whether we were at the Olio restaurant or the breakfast buffet. The Amstar airport transport was not operating as good as it should have. We paid for the premium/luxury service and were handed bottled water from a dirty water cooler on the floor. Also, the cars for the luxury service were older models without sunroofs. It was not worth the extra money we paid for the luxury service, but Omar Coronado, the regional supervisor, listened to my issues and personally put us in a newer model luxury vehicle for the return to the airport. The food was excellent, a little smaller on the portion sizes in 2025 versus 2024. My favorites were Olio, Mezes, Bordeaux, and Bluewater Grill. The highlight of our trip was when Ceclia our previous butler, teamed up with Ines and gave us an afternoon tea experience of a lifetime. Ceclia surprised us with the location and set up the afternoon tea on the balcony of the Presidential suite with delicious tea sandwiches, pastries, and white glove service. We were treated as true VIP guests as though we were staying at Impressions Moxche. Thanks to the Secrets Bahia staff for giving us an experience, not just a vacation.

The Good and the Regular
The service was amazing, everybody was willing to go above and beyond to improve our experience, a shout out to Joya in the breakfast buffet and to NOE and Jose Antonio in the Zipline, but in general everyone was very attentive. The entertainment was not so great, and even when Secrets is an adult only resort, the is almost non night life. Regarding the facilities and the amenities, they are average, especially the mattress, it was worn out, we slept ok, but I think if they don't update them soon this can become a serious complain. The food was good; some restaurants have better options than others, however the drinks is a different story, we tried the same type of beverages all over the resort and the taste was or good or bad, so there is an opportunity for improvement in that area. In general, in my very personal opinion, my rate is B or B+. I just want to clarify that the improvement should come not in the service because like I said, it was excellent those little details and the quality of the drinks and food.

Punta Mita
We're long time UVC members and never stayed here before. We found the resort to be really clean, large and never an issue in finding a chair by the pool. It has many options for pools which is nice so people can spread around and not have get up early to save a seat. The staff was very nice and helpful. I would like to mention a couple employees who went above and beyond to make our experience even better. Our butler Rousse Ligero Lopez. Daily I would wake up to a text from her with the day's activities, closures. Even on her day off when she went to school she checked in to let us know and gave us a contact person if we needed anyone. Very professional and responsive. We traveled with my sister and brother in law, they too had a butler but didn't have the same experience in service. If you there and have the option for a butler, ask for Rousse! The other staff member we loved was Julio who works up a the 8th preferred Sky pool. He was very attentive to our group. I don't think we ever finished a drink without him coming by to offer us another. He remembered what we liked to drink and would have drinks coming. Really impressed by him. We'll miss you Julio! As for the food, it was one of the better resorts in terms of quality. We felt it was good considering its an all inclusive. The French restaurant was our favorite. Our room was great. Clean and very updated. Didn't have any issues. We selected from their pillow menu and slept great. The only thing that was a bummer was the beach area. Very rocky so you can't just walk in freely to take a dip. You'll need water shoes. It's also a surfers beach so there are waves. If you like to surf then this is your spot. If you like to float in the ocean and have a sandy bottom with no rocks, this isn't for you... Overall, we had a great time and would recommend this resort.
