Entertaining resort with endless activities
We had an absolutely amazing week at Breathless!! This was our first time visiting Punta Cana and we definitely come back. Our concierge Emilo went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and had what we needed. We enjoyed getting to know him over the week! Jennifer was our favorite pool server. That girl works hard all day to make sure everyone is happy! Chris Brown on the entertainment team kept us laughing all week! We upgraded to xhale and would absolutely recommend that to just about everyone. The upgraded liquor made it worth every penny. Every morning we stopped by the Xhale lounge for top shelf drinks and shots of espresso. The drinks at the lounge are 1000% better than at the pool or other bars. We liked our swim out room but not sure we would book it again as we didn’t use it much. We loved all the activities and entertainment. Honestly all the shows were very good and the live music poolside had us dancing in the pool! Food was mostly impressive, better than I anticipated. I would recommend this resort for anyone looking for a lively resort, with endless things to do. There is definitely a party vibe but it’s not chaotic. It was perfect for us! We really enjoyed having access to Dreams Onyx and went over for a few meals and hit up the water slides a few times. There is not much else outside of the resort in this area so excursions are somewhat limited. We took a taxi to Macao beach and had a great day! We will most definitely return to this resort! We had an amazing time!!

My experience was amazing cant wait to come again, I went in 2023 and return 2 years later they keep the place looking good, when I first jumped off bus all I was looking for was my old butler Emilio he is a true gentleman , honest and very outgoing, he checked on me plenty of time made reservations and more he made me fill safe and the other crew as well food was 10/10 drinks was great , shows was great Everyone was so nice and friendly hate I couldn't really do what I want on beach the seaweed was baddddd... jhon at barefoot to care of me as well 10 thumbs up I had 1 hiccup but I got over it...

I would definitely recommend and go again.
Great experience. If you want to party there is a section, if you want to relax in the quiet, there is a section. Top notch entertainment nightly and a very nice rooftop club.

I would recommend this Resort!
Spent 7 days here on the Adult only side, I recommend 7 days to get the full experience of this property. The staff were excellent, the requirement to work the property is that you must be good-looking! 😍 Our room was a typical 3rd floor balcony room that over-looked the center of the resort. I didn't care for the resort's walk-out pool bc you walk over grass to get to the pool vs a concrete walk out. The pool activities were set every day at 12 for water aerobics which were true aerobics, sometimes you did spin cycling in the pool. Then there is the daily 3-3:30ish pool entertainment at the main pool where you get singing or/and dancing. Last was the daily evening 9:30p entertainment in the front theater area that sometimes ended up as hugh party with the DJ. These people sang and danced for hours at a time entertaining us daily for 7 days straight! BUT that's not al! They put on the best 4th of July celebration thus far. It started in the morning at the pool, with BBQ, music from the DJ, singers and dancers all around the pool, 4th of July party hats and a dozen 4th of July beach balls being tossed around the pool. Yes, we all acted like big kids with the beach balls! The states have never done it up like this before. The food at the buffet was excellent and even the restaurants were "good", not excellent. I enjoyed the buffet better. The Hibachi was very average, nothing exciting and was actually disappointing since that's the only restaurant you need to reserve to go to. The yumyum sauce is not yumyum FYI. They did have steak at one of the restaurants, it wasn't prime but it was ok. There are bars all over the property. The liquor was disappointing due to it being the cheap alcohol unless you booked in the Xhale part of the property. Oh, the beach was a hugh disappointment due the mounds and I really mean mounds of seaweed on the beach! Never experienced such a thing bf. They were literally shoveling the seaweed and a tracker was shredding it because it was forming a 5ft barricade at the water line. So we really did not enjoy that beach there. You had to take an excursion to one miles away that was clear and beautiful. But all an all I really enjoyed the property, the staff, the service and the entertainment which was by far better than all the resorts I've been to. I give it 4.5 stars due to the poor alcohol and the seaweed beach. Also, you may want to learn some Spanish before going. Most staff speak broken English. I knew little to get us through but I wish I knew more. I hope the locations are up to par as this one here!

Looks Fancy, Feels Ghetto – Bad Food, Weak Vibe, and a Busted Beach
My wife and I recently stayed at Breathless Punta Cana to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We got married in Punta Cana years ago and wanted to come back for a fun, full-circle kind of trip. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the high-end, adults-only experience we expected. It fell short in a lot of ways. Check-In & Concierge We booked the Xhale Club, and check-in was smooth. Our concierge, Joel, was great. He was very responsive over WhatsApp, helped us with a few reservations, and checked in with us daily. That part of the service felt polished and appreciated. Food Quality The food at Breathless is honestly some of the worst I’ve had at a resort. Most of the restaurants served bland, low-quality meals. Room service had maybe five items total (we tried the pizza—tasted like cardboard). The only reliable food was the Barefoot Grill by the pool, serving burgers and fries. We finally discovered later that Xhale Club guests can eat at Dreams Onyx next door. Total game-changer. We had two great dinners there. The Blue Water Grill and Capers (Italian) were both excellent. The food there was miles ahead of Breathless. Drinks & Xhale Bar Xhale Club includes premium liquor, but seems like there’s no real enforcement. Anyone can just walk into Xhale Club and help themselves, even if they didn’t pay for the upgrade. There’s no wristband or ID check, so it felt like we paid for something others got for free. Pool Parties & Nightlife The “party pool” kicks off in the afternoon with a DJ, except there’s no real DJ, just a guy standing there on his phone pressing play on a playlist. Not much energy. Worse, the main bar at the party pool had a terrible smell, which made it hard to relax or hang out there. The Endzone nightclub was a huge letdown. No DJ again, just the same old playlist with cringe songs like the Wobble and YMCA. It felt more like a high school dance than a luxury club. Most of the crowd was barely 18 (many likely came over from the family resort next door), and the whole vibe felt rowdy and trashy, not classy or upscale. The Overall Crowd This was a big one for us. The overall crowd at Breathless leaned more ghetto and low-class than what you’d expect at a luxury resort. We’re all for a good party, but we like it balanced with quality and good energy and this wasn’t it. It felt more like a cheap spring break scene. The Beach? Forget It. The beach was unusable. Covered in thick, smelly seaweed. They had tractors trying to clear it, but it was nonstop. No one was on the beach because it reeked. We were told this is common in summer months, but it was still disappointing. When you book a Caribbean trip, you expect to enjoy the beach. Water Warning – Important! Use bottled water to brush your teeth. They don’t tell you this when you check in, but the tap water can cause traveler’s diarrhea. Friends warned us before the trip, and when we asked, the front desk casually confirmed it. This should be made clear to every guest upon arrival. Staff & Energy Besides a few awesome team members (shoutout to Murphy, Felipe, and Juan Carlos at the Xhale Bar), most staff seemed pretty checked out. No energy, no smiles, just not engaged or friendly. Definitely not the 5-star service we’ve experienced at other all-inclusives. Timeshare Pressure After check-in, they send you a letter telling you to pick up “resort coupons.” In reality, it’s just a setup to push you into a timeshare-style presentation. Say no, and they’ll keep bugging you. Say no enough times, and they get noticeably rude. Not how you want to spend your vacation. Final Verdict The resort looks high-end, but the experience doesn’t match. Between the bad food, beach conditions, disappointing crowd, and lack of true service, it’s not a place we’d return to. The best part of our stay was eating at Dreams Onyx, which only made us wish we had stayed there instead. Save yourself the frustration and book Dreams Onyx next door or try another resort instead. You’ll get better food, a better vibe, and a way more enjoyable stay
